I find GIF files very restrictive even though they are kind to the system resources. This package proposes an alternative to GIF files by using image sequences instead. As a result, the animations get all the controls a video player would have.

PS: I believe GIF files are not controllable- please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is really useful ! add some code excerpt too.

Can it load from other image format than gif ? animated webP ?

@Solido Thank you very much. I will notify you when I add the code excerpt to the README.

Just to be clear, this doesn't work with GIFs. This is an alternative to using GIFs. It works with image sequences. There are many applications that easily convert any video/GIF file to an image sequence. Once the image sequence is created, the format of the images in this sequence doesn't matter for the package:)
