Simon Popelier

👋 Hi, I’m Simon,

I'm a Data Scientist currently working with temporal & spatial data in a start-up specializing in real estate.

I have been working in the data science field for about 4 years now and consistently seek to apply my expertise to develop new ideas!

💻 I work with ...

Graphs! I thrive most when it comes to this fascinating domain. Me and my team developed many projects revolving around Graph Neural Networks, from architectural reconstruction to market interactions. Additionally, you may find illustrated articles on Graph Theory on my blog page.

Being a map enthusiast, I'm also chasing new GIS libraries. Some of which I use in my work, and others I play with for fun.

When it comes to practice, I follow carefully the MLOps community to gather and apply best practices. I for instance love to turn to LF AI to get inspiration on the matter.

🌱 I'm Learning ...

New languages: Python and Julia, or Japanese and Mandarin. I'm on a quest to create applications that can help me with this endeavor. You may find some of these projects by browsing my profile!

I also always keep an eye on various other topics! I particularly enjoy genomics, information retrieval, and recommendation engines.
