AIRDOS02 - Airborne cosmic radiation dosimeter with GPS receiver

AIRDOS02A back panel

Cosmic radiation dosimeter unit. It is intended for airborne measurement of cosmic radiation and dosimetry in mixed ionization fields on board aircraft.

Technical parameters

  • Silicon PIN diode detector with ~60 mm³ detection volume
  • Measurement endurance ~200 days with two LS33600 battery cells with GPS receiver disabled
  • One-month measurement endurance with 5 minutes interval of GPS position logging
  • Number of energy channels 248
  • Energy measurement resolution <60 keV/channel
  • GPS logging interval configurable by firmware
  • Airborne GNSS receiver (navigation altitude verified up to 36km a.m.s.l.)
  • Integration time of ionizing radiation spectra 10 s
  • Size LxWxH 166 mm x 107 mm x 57 mm
  • Weight 0.85 kg (Without batteries and GPS antenna)
