This is a mutual information estimator with an adaptive partition of interspike interval durations and spike densities.

To run: AIMIE.m is a function file. To test AIMIE on the given sample data, load sample.mat and run AIMIE(input,output) in MATLAB's command prompt. The output is the mutual information as caclulated by AIMIE (in bits).
