This project was originally made for my grade 12 physics term project (2018). The Arduino code for this project has been lost but some information and images of the completed project can be seen below.
This project uses an arduino nano packed tightly into a model rocket with the goal of using RF transceivers to transmit live GPS and altitude data from the rocket to a ground station. The wireless communication also enables deploying a camera to record the descent and the control of 4 small motors mounted on the rocket to control the landing position.
This was accomplished using a collection of breakout boards and Arduino libraries. Breakout boards were interfaced with an arduino using SPI or I2C.
Rocket Electronics:
Ground Electronics:
- 2.4ghz radio
- joystick
- Connected to Laptop
- Interfacing with a python program via serial communication to give live data of the rocket and save it to a csv
- Arduino Mega
