Opus-CAT only works with "French", not "French (France)" in memoQ #96
Comments
Hello Dominique I know this problem See the following post: #22 and use the "override" workaround (very easy to do and works). Dave Neve (SafeTex) |
Thanks, Dave! That was an easy one! If/when translating in several language pairs, one must remember to change the override, but it's a minor inconvenience. |

Using the latest MT engine (1.2.4) and the latest memoQ (10.6), I can only get the plugin to work with "French", and not with "French (France)". If I look at the log file, I see the following entry:
2024-04-07 19:29:28.395 +03:00 [DBG] Language code not recognized: fre-FR.
A colleague who works for a Finnish administration says they have no problem using "Swedish (Sweden)". Indeed, I was able to create a test project with swe-SE as target and I saw this in the log (no error):
2024-04-07 20:58:30.070 +03:00 [INF] Starting MT pipe for model fin-swe_fi-sv_opusTCv20210807+bt-2021-12-08.
Same with a sample project with "English (United Kingdom)" i.e. eng-GB (as displayed by memoQ) as target:
2024-04-07 21:08:36.788 +03:00 [INF] Starting MT pipe for model fin-eng_fi-en_opusTCv20210807+nopar+ft95-sepvoc_transformer-align_2022-01-28.
So why are swe-SE and eng-GB accepted, but fre-FR is not? As a workaround, can I make changes to the configuration files of the installed model in order to force compatibility with memoQ?
