A MIDI-file library for VC++ programmers

The MIDI File DLL "HP MIDIFILE" includes functions to load MIDI Files or create new ones, to read, insert, delete, change all MIDI Events of GM1/GM2 and of YAMAHA XG/XF. With functions Select, Copy and Paste sets of events can be inserted at other timepoints into the same or another MIDI File. There are functions to find and select MIDI Devices and to play the loaded song.

HP MIDIFILE is intended to simplify the creation and editing of MIDI Files. Most of the functions work with the logic of events, not with internal data.

HP MIDIFILE also offers functions to read items of Cakewalk/Sonar Instrument Definition Files.

The DLL implemented for the programming language C++ for Windows of all versions: Win98, Win2000, XP and Vista.
Interfaces to Visual Basic, VB Net and C# are documented.

A detailed documentation with a lot of samples is added.

DLL to program applications for MIDI Files of types SMF0 or SMF1. XG and XF are supported. The DLL can be called from C++ applications and offers interfaces for Visual Basic, VB Net and C#.

Die MIDI-file DLL "HP MIDIFILE" enthält Funktionen zum Laden und Kreieren von MIDI-files. Alle Standard MIDI Events und YAMAHA XG/XF Events können ausgelesen, eingefügt, gelöscht und verändert werden. Mit Select, Copy und Paste werden Events in anderen Zeitpunkten in das aktuelle oder ein weiteres MIDI-file eingefügt.
MIDI-Files werden über einen festzugelegenden Port abgespielt.

Mit den Funktionen von HP MIDIFILE können Applikationen ohne tiefere Kenntnisse der internen Struktur von MIDI-Files und Events entwickelt werden. Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen basieren die Funktionsaufrufe auf der Logik der MIDI-Events und nicht auf Hexadezimal-Daten.

Die DLL enthält weitere Funktionen zur Analyse von Cakewalk Instrumenten Definitionsdateien. Die DLL wurde für C++ unter Windows (Windows98, Windows2000, XP und Vista) entwickelt. Interfaces für die Programmiersprachen Visual Basic, VB Net und C# werden beschrieben.
