Hi there, I'm Billy

I'm an incoming engineer at Caterpillar Robotics

  • 📚 I earned a master's degree in Robotics from the University of Michigan and bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerosapce Engineering from UC Davis. At each universtiy, I worked on projects in the following areas:
  • 🦕 I have used Blender to create a 3D dataset for improving 3D spatial awareness of a multimodel tranformer model (paper)
  • 🤖 I have programming experience in ROS/ROS2 for C++ and Python
  • 🚗 I have worked on path following controllers for drive-by-wire on-road vehciles
  • 🚜 I have programmed perception algorithms for autonomous tractors
  • 🛰️ I have trained CNNs and programmed flight software for a low-Earth orbit test of an object detection system tailerd for robotic inspection of the International Space Station (Python, OpenCV, PyTorch, Mask R-CNN, YOLO)
