Psalm 139:13 - Creation

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Have you ever thought about that when God created the earth, he didn't stop creating. He is creating new people every day. He hand crafted each of us in our mother's womb.

Lord, thank you  for creating us, for caring so much about each and everyone of us that you knit us together. Help us to honor you and give you the glory for your creation. Amen.

Psalm 19:1 - Sky watching

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the works of his hands.

Today is July 4th, Independence Day. As so many of us look to the sky watching fireworks, consider how the heavens declare the glory of the Lord.

Lord, thank you for your magnificent creation. Please help us to see your glory proclaimed in all the earth. Amen.

Romans 1:25 - Creator vs. created

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

For many years I have thought about the concept of worshiping the created verses the Creator. Really any time we place something or someone above God, this is what we are doing because God created everything.

Lord, thank you for giving us the truth and creating everything. Please help us to keep your truth and serve only you. Amen.

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

After being a Christian for so many years you would think I wouldn't have any more questions like these. But I do. I just finished a lesson on songs about God's creation, so I decided to read Genesis. I have always wondered about the universe. I think the Bible says God created the earth but I wasn't sure about the universe. And if he didn't create it who did? So I guess that he probably did but I just wanted to find some biblical evidence. This first verse says he created the heavens and the earth, so is the heavens the universe? To be continued...

Lord, I love you and completely trust in you. Please help me to see my way through this understanding. Amen.

Psalm 139:14

I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well

I am grading another WBS lesson this morning. The lesson is: God Has Spoken Through Nature.  Here is a quote I like from the lesson related to the scripture above.

The brain of even the smallest child has many more active parts than all the stars the eye sees at night! Our minds work with great thoughts. Our eyes see beauty in living colors. The human spirit has power to choose and to love. Our hearts reach high in praise and worship.

Lord, Thank you for your amazing creation, including us. The amazing universe, earth and all the creations in it show us your amazing design and power. Lord, you are an awesome engineer! Amen.
