The undiphthongized form tót is attested in Dictionarium Anamitico-Latinum (1838), glossed as exerere.

Compare Proto-Katuic *sɔɔt (to strip rice from stalk) (whence Pacoh xot), Khmu [Cuang] hɔːt ("to harvest").
