An anonymous (and diligent) user copied-and-pasted the contents of Saint George (Utah) to a new article at St. George (Utah) and made Saint George (Utah) a redirect. They probably didn't realize that logged-in users can move articles and maintain the edit history. To preserve history, I restored the original version of "Saint George", then deleted the new "St. George", then moved "Saint George" to "St. George". I think this does the right thing.

I think this move sounds fine; I'm perfectly willing to bend our "expand abbreviations" rule from the article naming conventions if there's a good reason to. I believe we do the same thing with St. John's, for example. --(WT-en) evanp 12:57, 15 January 2007 (EST)

Anonymous user here: Thanks! I was looking around (and viewing MediaWiki docs) for how to move the page and preserve edits, but failed to find out how (not being a logged-in user, Doh!). I appreciate it.

Guide?

[edit]

Thanks to great work by User:74.211.3.4, is this article a Guide yet? I believe so and have changed its status.

I think this would be a great Off the beaten path nominee. What additional work is needed? I'd like to see some location info given (ideally, geo for both ends of the itinerary) for all entries under "Mountain biking". Also, a couple more well-chosen photos would be lovely.

Otherwise, very little else is obvious to this reader, who doesn't know the town, and I'm absolutely content to leave User:74.211.3.4 to his/her own devices in adding or updating any information s/he feels would be good to add or update.

I think this article will probably be ripe for an Otbp nomination whenever there's a pause in editing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:47, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

The usual small things; some coordinates are missing, it'd definitely be good to have more photos and Eat and Sleep could probably be grouped into Budget/Mid-range/Splurge. ϒpsilon (talk) 10:54, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
