Bias / article appears to be mainly written by "ncox"

[edit]

Parts of this article seem non-notable, or irrelevant. Much of it appears potentially biased, or written by the subject of the article.

The article might rate substantial trimming. It appears to be basically an online CV, perhaps more suitable for a linkedin profile - additionally, the memberships "ncox" is a member of, already list this person. 86.169.76.66 (talk) 19:13, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

While the page may need trimming for concision and relevance, those are not POV issues per se, but ones of editorial content and judgment. I would ask that you state which parts of the article you believe to violate the NPOV policy — that is, which parts of the article do you think are unbalanced in their portrayal of the subject? Otherwise, I intend to remove the POV tag within a couple days. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 09:26, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This page began as a near copy of my user page, created by an unknown third party. I have updated it over time to make sure that it remains correct. Everything in the entry is, however, in the public record. Ncox (talk) 00:11, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that this is sufficiently referenced, but I'd appreciate an independent assessment of that. Ncox (talk) 09:55, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

I thought that generally, articles should be edited and added by others.86.181.149.124 (talk) 18:37, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. But I have tried to keep up-to-date a page that someone else created - by migrating across from my user page. <redact legal threat> I relation to the page itself, I believe it is entirely objective has no issues of neutrality, bias or self-interest.Ncox (talk) 19:48, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I lot has been deleted that I believe should have stayed. I can't put it back myself, so could I please ask that someone have a go?Ncox (talk) 20:55, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

i just stubified this article. Ncox please stop editing the article directly. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 21:01, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ncox besides being overlinked to the point of illegibility, the article was badly sourced. If you happen to know of any independent, reliable sources that are focused on you, those would be the most helpful for building new content. If you could post them here that would be great. Thanks. Request for reinstatement of academic career section

[edit]

I believe the previous academic career is sufficiently attested to by the following (independent) sources:

I request that it be reinstated, though I don't mind if in a modified form.Ncox (talk) 21:37, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

neither of those links works. Jytdog (talk) 21:56, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
i can work with the 1st one. Jytdog (talk) 21:58, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be grateful for a correction to the spelling of my name in the "Career" section - Cox rather than Cos.

You might like to put the following content back. I have been advised that "These are mostlly primary sources the content may belong on a CV but not necessarily in an encyclopaedia article which requires in depth coverage in multiple secondary sources". Is this correct? If it is then most pages would be fairly empty!Ncox (talk) 16:19, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Could someone please change the reference to "Rev Cox" to something else? It is a small thing, but is something of a personal bugbear for me. "Dr Cox" would be better, or even "He":
