Should we add the LGBT people from Italy category to the article? Mahmood is gay/bisexual but has never publicly came out of the closet because he "don't like labels". His sexual orientation was also a topic of Non è la D'Urso show a few days ago, where Marco Carta criticized him for not coming out publicly. In an interview with Gay.it Mahmood was even asked "You are Italian Egyptian and for gays, in Egypt, there are still problems. How do you experience this disparity?". I think it makes to add to the LGBT category even though he hasn't specified he's gay or bisexual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.182.175.6 (talk) 18:34, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mahmood (singer) → Mahmood – Primary topic due to being one of the most streamed artists in Italy and the only person known as just "Mahmood", does not have disambiguation in most other Wikipedias such as Italian Wikipedia. The name is one of the many variants of Mahmud and a hatnote would be sufficient for that. Sahaib (talk) 07:03, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. More convincing evidence of primary topic is needed. While the singer features prominently in web searches for "Mahmood", he is not the only entry in the first 20 hits because of the prevalence of the name. Also, page views are not convincing when balanced against other pages listed on the Mahmud/Mahmood disambiguation page: [1]. Celia Homeford (talk) 08:49, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In the first 20 google hits searching for "Mahmood", I get directed to two Birmingham MPs, a medical practice, an English cricketer, a lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, a lawyer, two engineers and a financial consultant. The name is too common for anyone to be a primary topic. Celia Homeford (talk) 08:10, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's just the given name hits. In addition to those 12, there are a further 18 people at Mahmood#Surname, without counting variant spellings. There are nearly 200 links on that page altogether. Celia Homeford (talk) 13:25, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
