O&O?
[edit]It is somewhat of a pointless question, because many stations across have branded themselves by their network + over-the-air and/or local cable channel number (or even network/city or region, i.e. Fox Charlotte, CBS Detroit, Wisconsin's WB), and it's more commonplace in today's 500-channel universe. In fact, the Fox stations were the first to brand themselves by the network/channel number format, and it wasn't until UPN and The WB coming along in 1995 that we saw the Big Three networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC using the network/channel number format. Each television station has a certain identity they follow, and KRIV, like many others are simply letting viewers that Fox is on Channel 26, and Channel 26 is Fox. It's simple enough.
On another note, to the person(s) who are currently adding information to this entry, please use better grammar and spelling and have your facts straight when adding information. As someone who spent a lot of time researching information on KRIV, as well as a few other stations on the Houston TV section, I really don't appreicate someone coming in and basically messing up what me and other people who actually care about these subjects actually took time and researched and add quality to these entries.
Could someone please define O & O's in the article? An acronym needs to be defined at least once before being used. O&O is "owned and operated".
KRIV has confirmed with me through telephone conversation that since KRIV is a Fox owned and operated station that Fox 26 is here to stay, and that it is not going anywhere, not even its sister KTXH even if KTXH meets the demise of UPN network.
Requested move
[edit]KRIV (TV) → KRIV-TV – Previously moved from KRIV (and updated all pages that link to it) to make room for disambiguation page. Just now realized that KRIV-TV follows more common syntax. Would move myself, but cannot: redirect already exists, copy & paste would violate GFDL. I was told to seek assistance... Thadius856 01:07, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Oppose. Per FCC database, the call is KRIV so the disambiguated title should be KRIV (TV). The article has the correct title. Vegaswikian 05:40, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Withdrawing vote since it is no longer clear what the guideline is. Vegaswikian 06:39, 11 October 2006 (UTC)- Support. This would follow standards for TV networks. Some Person 18:20, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Support. All other TV stations with disambiguation pages use CALL-TV format. This one should too. -216.40.239.21 20:19, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Support. Follows common syntax. 207.218.218.182 12:51, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

The gallery of logos
[edit]Please do replace the gallery of logos. It Doesn't violates WP:FUC #3 (we only need one logo to identify the station) and #8 (there's no significant commentary on any of these logos). - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 17:49, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
The logos are a part of the TV station article; U act like logos junk up the articles, they're here to stay, SO DEAL WITH IT! If U gon be like that then U might as well go to all other TV station articles and delete their logo galleries too, and wait on somebody at wikipedia to cuss U out (not me). Good day. GETONERD84 16:44, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- They probably should be deleted, as there are strict rules on how fair-use images can be used and these violate them. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 19:48, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Fox26-3D.jpg
[edit]Image:Fox26-3D.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
