[edit]Whatever hapened to DVA? Does the band still preform, and is Adi Newton still making music? Avador 22:58, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think they're around anymore. Antler Subway went out of business a few years ago I think, and that was their primary label. I haven't seen anything new by them since the mid 90's. Last album I seen them put out was Sign and the Collective on Cleopatra. I didn't care for Sign very much, it was a bland album IMO, and since I already have most of their other albums, I never picked up Collective since it was nothing new on there. Unfortunately, I think DVA is over, but who knows. There are a few bands that vanished in the mid-90's and now all of a sudden they come back with something new, like yelworC, Chemlab and Click Click. Even Skinny Puppy said they were done after Process and last year they put out an all new album. Cyberia23 23:37, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
I don't know if he's making music, but Adi Newton is currently teaching at Truro College in Cornwall: https://www.truro.ac.uk/olc.php?activityID=94&source=se2&css=https://www.trurocollege.ac.uk/code/normal_google.css
- My word. "The tutor, Adi Newton, is a former member of the pre-Human League Trio THE FUTURE and founder of the successful commercial and experimental group CLOCKDVA. Adi Newton's experience in studio music production adds a valuable practical knowledge of creative music production.". It runs from 03 January 2007 to 06 June 2007 and costs £360. I wonder what secrets he has to share. I believe John Foxx also ended up teaching college courses. This raises the question as to whether the group is called Clock DVA or ClockDVA; I have seen both renderings used on their album covers. -Ashley Pomeroy 19:40, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Adi is still making music and films and does indeed teach at Truro College. I have known Adi very well for the past 42 years and to my knowledge he has, since 1978, generally used ClockDVA on his own artworks. My own favourite DVA tracks are Female Mirror, My Allen Jones and You're Without Sound. Cornovia 22:10, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- When I wrote the above I was listening to "Man-Amplified", a 1991 album which is an interesting time capsule of the immediate pre-internet age. "(T)he first ultraintelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever make". -Ashley Pomeroy 21:02, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
How come there is no mention of Mr Bob Baker???
