Scope and goals
Scope
This project covers all aspects of databases, including (but not limited to) logical design methodologies, query languages, storage systems, physical design, administration, and security. The information currently available on Wikipedia concerning this important, far-reaching, topic requires the talents of all available subject-matter experts, writers, editors, and those with organizational skills.
Goals
The ultimate aim of this WikiProject is to create a comprehensive Database reference for Wikipedia. As a result, the scope of the project includes all articles in the area of databases, although there is likely to be some overlap with articles in areas such as mathematics, logic, and software engineering as well. The specific goals of the project are to:
- Discover and tag all database-related articles with the {{WPDATABASE}} banner.
- Split, merge, delete, and create articles as needed to build a useful and comprehensive body of knowledge.
- Develop individual database articles to the highest-possible standard.
- Make all database articles accessible.
- Work towards featured article status for database articles.
- Build a community of interest around databases.

Option 1: Task force in computing
Phase 1
- Modify {{WikiProject Computing}}:
- Add a Databases task force, accessed with
databases=yes
- Make it so
science=auto
adds the article to WPCS, and also to Category:Automatically assessed Database articles
- Add a Databases task force, accessed with
- Get help from a bot to replace
{{WikiProject Databases}}

.- If the talk page already transcludes {{WikiProject Computing}}, add
|science=auto|databases=yes
- Set
|database-importance=
with the value ofimportance=
in the Databases template, if present. - If

Phase 2
- Review the ~600 automatically tagged articles in Category:Automatically assessed Database articles and change
science=auto
