Thanks for doing the discography, which I was going to get round to. But I'm pretty sure that the image won't be allowed, and I'm afraid I hate what you've done to the structure and format, so I'll change it back to be more in line with the 400+ other articles I've started. And the band certainly were not American. Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:45, 24 February 2011 (UTC) PS: I've also corrected a couple of errors in your discography. Ghmyrtle (talk) 00:06, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Policy Question
edit[1] Hi TPH, I was just reviewing the history of the Dollyrots page and I noticed that on September 17, 2010 (14:55) you reverted a backlink to a CSI episode. Your summary comment was Removing backlinks to Stuck On You (CSI: NY) because ""; using TW. My question is, why did you delete the link? I assume there's a policy, but I'm not aware of it. Thanks, Rob. Robman94 (talk) 19:43, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Because I'd been using unlink to remove backlinks to CSI episodes I redirected. I think most of them have been restored. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 20:24, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Free use files
editHi We Hope, quick question for you. When I load an image, am I supposed to flag it as having a free use rationale supplied, or am I supposed to leave it to folks like you? Thanks, Rob. Robman94 (talk) 00:47, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- When you have a free-use image, you do need to show proof of that just as you provide a rationale (FUR) for a non-free (fair use) file. The free use tags are here: Wikipedia:File copyright tags/Free licenses. I recently uploaded this free use file: File:Mitchell ayres.jpg, and you can see what went into the proof that it's a free use one. If you don't have any type of license on a file, It's going to get tagged for not having any, so please do license whatever you upload, and if you're not sure what kind of license the file should have--free or non-free, please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. We hope (talk) 01:34, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the reply, but I think you misunderstood my question. I do know that a FUR needs to be supplied, I was actually asking about the "image_has_rationale=yes" tag that you've been adding to my pics [2] My question is, should I add that tag myself when I add a pic, or is it there to indicate that someone else has validated that the FUR has been provided? Robman94 (talk) 12:22, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- You can add the rationale yes tag if you like. We hope (talk) 13:41, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Nice work putting the article into usable form. Your version correctly emphasises the reason this band is notable -- their deliberate public relations campaign to stay out of the public eye. All the average reader who is unfamiliar with the group -- like me -- needs to know is what kind of music they play. (I guess I'll just have to wait until next month to find out.) -- llywrch (talk) 19:25, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. It is an interesting strategy for a band to adopt. However, I think it's one which is likely to set people up for a disappointment though, if their music doesn't live up to the hype (or lack thereof, depending on how you look at it). Btw, if you want to hear what they sound like now, check out the Said the Gramophone blog entry on them here. The MP3s at the top of the page don't work anymore, but there's a link to a file in the comments that works. Robman94 (talk) 19:58, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Would the "Robman" who left a comment at that blog be you? -- llywrch (talk) 20:08, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- It would, but it's not my file, it appears to have been created by the folks at CreamTeam.tv. Robman94 (talk) 20:12, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

- I hadn't the chance to listen to any of their tracks until a few minutes ago. I think your judgment, "interesting but not earth shattering", is spot on. They're far better & more to my taste than what I feared they might sound like -- I heard some truly dreadful & aggressively disharmonic stuff back in my more adventurous days -- but I didn't hear anything in their music to make me want to go out & buy their album. -- llywrch (talk) 06:00, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
WU LYF
editHiya; I keep trying to update the WU LYF wiki page and you keep editing it back! I work with WU LYF and I’m keen to upload the actual facts rather than something which is misleading. If I change it will you leave it or is there a reason why you keep amending? Many thanks James — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesbaldwin1988 (talk • contribs) 08:49, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi James, the only part that I reverted was the part where you deleted information and references without explanation. That's why I asked you to discuss the changes that you wish to make on the talk page. Chances are, once you explain what it is you're trying to do we can reach consensus on the best way to do it. (Btw, if you add ~~~~ after your posts on talk pages, the system will automatically sign them for you). Robman94 (talk) 13:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
RE: Brian Jackson
editThe issue was that it was another IP editor making an unexplained genre change after being warned multiple times (User talk:86.144.71.100). Also, that article, along with those associated with Scott-Heron and Jackson (album, song articles) have been vandalized similarly by possible IP socks, making the same exact genre change, going away for a while after being warned, and after a period of time different IP accounts coming back and making the same genre change. That user's contributions mirror those of other IPs, such as 109.152.112.86, Special:Contributions/109.155.13.208, Special:Contributions/86.169.134.107. Dan56 (talk) 01:32, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Bearcat, good catch on the correct spelling of "Crème de la Crème", that is indeed how it's listed on the CD cover. I originally cut and pasted the track list from Amazon, where it's incorrectly spelled as "Créme de la Créme". iTunes has the same incorrect spelling. Robman94 (talk) 22:47, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, for what it's worth, I hadn't actually seen the CD cover yet (didn't even know the album existed until I saw the article, because embarrassingly I haven't actually paid much attention to his last few albums) — but I'm familiar enough with French spelling to know that the word crème has an è in it instead of an é :-) Bearcat (talk) 00:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Right, but just because that's how it should be spelled doesn't mean that's how the artist spelled it, as they are known to use their "artistic license" to change things like that. When I saw your change, I double checked at Amazon and then iTunes and I was thinking I should revert it, but then I went to my car to check the CD sleeve and sure enough, Peter used the correct letter and Amazon/iTunes got it wrong. If you got put off by albums like Dust then it might be time to come back, as Ninth is a return to form. Amazon is streaming the album here. He's also a lot more comfortable with the Bauhaus legacy now, so you might also want to check him out in concert if you get the chance. I saw him play in Chicago a few months ago and he was in great form. Robman94 (talk) 01:09, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's not that they put me off, so much as they passed right by without my even knowing that they existed. In my defense, the radio stations I was listening to at the time weren't playing him and the whole MP3-blog thing hadn't really taken off yet — and he was one of the artists who just kind of fell off my radar for a while because I just wasn't finding out about it when he had a new album. Bearcat (talk) 01:29, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- To be honest, I lost track of him for a while after the Deep album, and I lost track of all music pretty much over the last 10 years (raising a family, etc) but after I recently got back into going to gigs, I saw him play in Chicago where he previewed the album, so I was pumped to buy it the day it came out. If you check out the Amazon stream, I'd be curious to know what you think of it. Robman94 (talk) 01:36, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

A problem with the collapsed section in the Korean Pop AfD
editWithin it, there were two 'keep's - I can't edit it on my mobile to move them out of the collapse box - it's far to large - so could you please move them? thanks -- PhantomSteve.alt/talk\[alternative account of Phantomsteve] 19:22, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- The first 'keep' was from Standage and it was part of another 4-paragraph rant, with no policy related discussion. The second was from an IP who has made no other edits and also didn't quote any policies. So, based on that, how much do you think I should move out of the collapse box? Robman94 (talk) 19:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- As a "stop gap", I have copied the two votes and credited them to the posters, but have not copied any of the text. If you go back and read the text, I think you'll see why. Anyone who wants to read it can still dive into the collapsed box. But, if you have a different suggestion, I'd be happy to take care of it. Robman94 (talk) 19:54, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think the way you did it is spot on - the rest of that section isn't needed with the !votes. Thanks -- PhantomSteve.alt/talk\[alternative account of Phantomsteve] 20:45, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Any chance that you'll be back by your real PC soon, though I know it's getting late in Croydon (still planty of daylight left here in Chicago!) Another IP has jumped into the fray and is likening this "cover up" to something Sarah Palin would do! :) Just FYI, I know that Standage also uses the 208.120.138.181 IP address and that is located in New York. The other IPs from the AfD (ie, 71.249.179.74, 50.74.1.34 and 68.167.21.82) also appear to be from New York, so they could be sock/meat puppets. I think it's time for an admin to step in and put an end to this silliness. Robman94 (talk) 21:16, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- I can't do anything, for two reasons - firstly I'm at work for the next 10 hours; secondly (and more importantly) I am very much involved here. You could start a sockpuppet investigation yourself or take this to ANI. The language in the most recent 'keep' shows it to be Standage - both in the style and in the "the references I found" statement. For someone who isn't going to bother, he's making a lot of effort! -- PhantomSteve.alt/talk\[alternative account of Phantomsteve] 21:45, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

RE: Stone Rollin'
editI reverted your recent edit to this article. Another user had inquired about me removing this note in the Track listing section as well. The citation you used does not support the text, as it only says that Saadiq recorded a hidden track for the album. While I know too that the song follows the last track on the album, it has to be proven with a source and I've tried looking for a source for the text, but could not find one. If a source could be found indicating the song's place (when, where it occurs) in the track listing/album, it would make sense to include it in this section. Otherwise, it seems sufficient to just have the article's only mention of the hidden track in the "Recording" section as it is now. If you're interested, I hope you'll have better luck finding a source. Dan56 (talk) 00:46, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- How about these:
- "But maybe the best song on Stone Rollin' the one that doesn't appear in the track list. The final tune on the album isn't the 10th, "The Answer," a nice ode to growing up in a neighborhood where people look out for and after each other. No, the final song's a hidden track called “The Perfect Storm” " [3]
- "Plus if you let “The Answer” continue playing, you’ll bump into hidden bonus track – “The Perfect Storm” " [4] Robman94 (talk) 03:56, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Done Nice work. Dan56 (talk) 18:51, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Use of ASIN template
editHi there. This is following your revert. My reading of the old deletion discussion is that {{ASIN}} should only be used as an ID of last resort, where no free sources are readily available, which clearly isn't the case with Bad Reputation (Joan Jett album) where discogs and allmusic links are readily available. I started discussion at Template talk:ASIN#When to use this to clarify this issue, which you might want to join. Best regards, and happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 06:54, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Muhandes, thanks for the follow-up. I think the "last resort" comments were more directed at books than CDs (ie, where an ISBN doesn't exist). My take on it is, if the template exists then we are free to use it, as long as we think it adds value to the article. As most Amazon pages for CDs include a professional review of the record and/or a bio on the artist, I think they do add value. Plus, they also include user reviews, something that we're not allowed to include in articles, so that makes them even more important in my view, as I'd much rather read reviews from real users than professional critics when I'd trying to decide whether to buy a CD or not. Given that it's quite likely that many readers are going to go over to Amazon and search for the item anyway, why not make it easier by providing a link. Plus, when the links use the official ASIN template, we are ensuring that it's not somebody's personal referal link. Your thoughts? Robman94 (talk) 18:19, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- The comment was clearly made at CDs since it says "But if there are links to Discogs / Allmusic / other sites, then it should be safe to remove then". My take is that the template exists for a very certain purpose, and not as a blanket permission to overthrow WP:ELNO #5. It's a tool that can be used for a good purpose (linking to items where no other link is possible) and a bad purpose (promoting Amazon). Yes, Amazon pages sometimes include a review, but there are much better review sites. I'm not sure why you say "it's quite likely that many readers are going to go over to Amazon and search for the item anyway". Amazon is not even in my top 10 websites to search for information. My opinion is exactly as Headbomb put it, and as I believe editors in the TfD intended - don't use this unless there is no other option. --Muhandes (talk) 18:36, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
- I was referring to Rich Farmbrough's comment on the old TfD page: "ASIN is used as an ID of last resort, and having a template helps keep track of those items that use ASIN. Also Amazon do maintain pages for unavailable items. Please replace ASINs with with ISBNs or OCLC where pssible, but don't kill the template, or remove links willy-nilly". My opinion is still that links to Amazon are useful because there are user comments there, and it's one of the first places that I go to to read those comments, even if I end up buying the CD from somewhere else. Neither the Discogs page or the Allmusic page have user comments. Having said that, I don't have the time or passion to fight to make wikipedia better these days, so if you're passionate that the link should be removed, go for it, I won't revert it. Robman94 (talk) 17:18, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

editNow I know who to call when I need help. I figure as long as I have good sources for the refs my pages should stick. We'll see....Jauma2368 (talk) 21:00, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- You would think, right? There are plenty Deletionists here on Wikipedia whose only contribution to the project is to delete other people's work, they rarely create pages themselves. You wouldn't believe the struggles that I went through to prevent the WU LYF and Go Betty Go pages from being deleted. The trick is, don't launch a page before it's ready. If you're still compiling references, etc it's a better idea to start the page in your own user space, then move it to the main area once you have enough refs for it to survive deletion attempts. Robman94 (talk) 21:08, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: Go Betty Go
edit75.159.76.207, I removed your "advert" tag from the Notability section of the Go Betty Go article because everything in that section is a direct quote from the cited sources, none of it is original prose. Robman94 (talk) 18:12, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Perhaps the template was not the best one available; I simply felt the section read like a promotional pamphlet rather than an encyclopædia. However, I'll defer to the judgment of a more experienced editor such as yourself. 75.159.76.207 (talk) 20:42, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- I hear you and it could perhaps be better written. The background to this article is that it used to get deleted a lot, so we had to really drive home the notability to prevent it from continuing to get deleted. It was easier to add those references as direct quotes that wrapping them up in some creative text. I think I added most of them and I have no relationship to the band, so it's not a promo for them. I would have no problem with it if you wanted to reformat that section, just don't delete any of the references or the deletionists will jump on it again. Robman94 (talk) 20:57, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

First, if OTRS has not confirmed the copyright release, then we have to act as if it is copyrighted. Second, fair use is irrelevant: our criteria for use of copyrighted images is much more stringent, and a picture of the record label will never pass them. Images used to market a recording sometimes do, but no one markets a song with a picture of the record.—Kww(talk) 22:30, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Go Betty Go updates
editRob,
I made the updates on behalf of the band. They would like the American Idol reference removed, since Emily was the Idol contestant, not the band, and she is no longer part of the band. I left her referenced in the Past members section.
I am good with the other stuff you removed. I appreciate your help since I am new to wiki updates.
Thanks,
Gary L. Mandella — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glmandella (talk • contribs) 19:20, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Gary, thanks for writing. I guessed you were probably working on behalf of the band, and you hopefully noticed that I fixed the photo that you loaded so that it wouldn't get deleted (Aixa helped me with that). Anyway, bands often misunderstand the nature of a Wikipedia page about them, as they often consider the Wiki page to be an extension of their other social media pages (like Facebook, etc) but that is not the case. There will often be information here that the band would not chose to put on their own sites, and the stuff with Emily is just such an example. Back in 2010, I needed the references that came with the American Idol news just to keep the page here and have it pass notability guidelines. But regardless, it is a part of the band's history, so it has a place here, even if it's not something that they might want to publicize anymore. We also have to remove promo type language that bands often add to their wiki pages. Robman94 (talk) 23:03, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- I also research the part you added about Ted Hutt, it turns out his Grammy connection is that he produced Remedy (Old Crow Medicine Show album) which won a Grammy, but he didn't win a Grammy himself, so I had to remove that part too. Robman94 (talk) 23:09, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- Rob, Ted won a grammy. It's listed on the Grammy page here: https://www.grammy.com/nominees
- 50. Best Folk Album

Dear Rob Thank you so much for contributing a photo to the article on Kate & Anna McGarrigle! Amazingly, I was looking for one such just last night, and lamenting the absence of any suitable pictures of the duo, to insert into the Infobox I was creating. Or, indeed, of Anna McGarrigle's, for her article also. I don't think you can imagine how delighted I am by your contribution to my efforts to improve this network of articles. (Especially since they're so far removed from your own area of interest in punk rock! ) You're a real star, Rob, and thank you very much once again for your helpful contributions to our encyclopaedia. (I wonder of you're planning to upload this photo into Commons in the near future?) With kind regards; Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 20:12, 10 February 2016 (UTC) |

Thank you also for clarifying the 'fair use' deal; that makes sense. Would you, by any chance, fancy uploading similar pix for Andy Irvine and his numerous bands and projects?! Here is a recent exchange on the subject (please scroll down to my last, long-ish entry, where I mention a list of bands/projects by name, numbered 1. to 8.).
Thank you for your consideration, Rob. It might not be something you'd be interested in; so, no worries if you don't feel like undertaking a project involving about 8-10 photos. I remain grateful to you for your recent, most helpful assistance.

editHi, Rob; I was wondering what I have done wrong with the Infobox on the article about Angus Wright. I have tried to correct my problem, but it's something that doesn't add up with the article's infobox. I was wondering you could look into it and maybe help me to correct what's wrong about the infobox. MariusEllingsen47 (talk) 15:52, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Egil Olli
editHi, Robman94, I'm having an issue with getting the Infobox for Egil Olli. And I'm again not sure what I have done wrong, so I was wondering you could either tell me what the wrong thing is, or correct yourself. MariusEllingsen47 (talk) 19:03 UTC, 9 July 2016
- Looks like somebody else has already fixed it. Robman94 (talk) 03:53, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
- Dear @Robman94: and @MariusEllingsen47:
- Yes, it was me; I apologize for not letting you know by posting a completion message here, but it was late when I applied the fix from my iPad, as soon as I saw the formatting issue, just before going to bed.
- With kind regards;

Hawaii Five-0 season 6
editHi, Robman. There appears to be someone who's tried to add a picture on the page Hawaii Five-0 (2010 TV series, season 6). I have tried what I can, but can't get it correct. MariusEllingsen47 (talk) 16:49, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- @MariusEllingsen47: That image itself doesn't exist. If you find, or upload, an image, all you need to do is enter the name of the image in the caption entry. Look at this page as an example, click edit to see the code. Robman94 (talk) 02:43, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
List-defined references
editHi Rob, you're good? Our paths crossed a while back in Endre Lund Eriksen, and I have since had time to read up on Help:List-defined references. References segregator assists with conversion, and I thought you'd might like to know. Regards, — Sam Sailor Talk! 11:20, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Sam Sailor: Hi Sam, thanks for taking the time to follow up, I will give both of those articles a good read, it's always nice to have new tricks up your sleeve here on wiki. Robman94 (talk) 12:28, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Helping a newcomer to upload a photo
editDear Rob,
You may remember me, we communicated in this exchange, during which you very generously gave me a lot of guidance about uploading image files. I hope you are keeping well?
Please may I impose on your kindness once more, by asking you a favour: I am currently helping a newcomer, Alex, with guidance about policies and guidelines. However, he wishes to upload a new photo he's received from Dónal Lunny, and has a plan to add it into the infobox at Irish bouzouki. His request to me can be found at my talk page (it's the third part of the thread, and currently the latest).
I would be very grateful to you if you could work with Alex directly and guide him through the process as it applies specifically to his project? Thank you for your consideration, Rob, and for helping Alex achieve his task, if/when convenient.
With kind regards for now;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 08:45, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Types of licenses available to be granted by a photo's copyright owner.
editDear Rob,
I hope you are keeping well, and that I may ask you for advice once again?
Thank you, in advance, for any helpful pointers you can offer.
A friend of mine, who is a professional photographer, has taken a photo of someone else (a living person), and has been asked by that someone to send the following e-mail to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, so that the photo can be used to illustrate that someone's Wikipedia article (BLP):
- I hereby affirm that I, (name), am the creator and/or sole owner of the exclusive copyright of the media work (link to work)
- I agree to publish the above-mentioned work under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International.
- I acknowledge that by doing so I grant anyone the right to use the work, even in a commercial product or otherwise, and to modify it according to their needs, provided that they abide by the terms of the license and any other applicable laws.
- I am aware that this agreement is not limited to Wikipedia or related sites.
- I am aware that the copyright holder always retains ownership of the copyright as well as the right to be attributed in accordance with the license chosen. Modifications others make to the work will not be claimed to have been made by the copyright holder.
- I acknowledge that I cannot withdraw this agreement, and that the content may or may not be kept permanently on a Wikimedia project.
My friend is somewhat concerned about granting this right, particularly about these two sentences:
- I acknowledge that by doing so I grant anyone the right to use the work, even in a commercial product or otherwise, and to modify it according to their needs, provided that they abide by the terms of the license and any other applicable laws.
- I am aware that this agreement is not limited to Wikipedia or related sites.
Given all this preamble, I have two simple questions, please Rob:
- Is there a Wikipedia page which explains the options open to owners of photographs for granting different types of licenses to Wikipedia users? If so, please would you be kind enough to add the link in your reply to my query?
- Is there an option whereby a photographer can grant the right to use a photograph only for the use in a specific Wikipedia article, and nowhere else? If there is, please would you point me to it?
As ever, thank you very much for your helpful assistance in this case, Rob, which is different again from the cases of our previous discussions.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 20:57, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
- Short answer: no. In order for a photo to be valid for Wikipedia it has to be "free", which means anyone can take that photo and basically do what they want with it, as long as they credit the original author. And that includes commercial magazines or websites using it, free of charge. So, if the author doesn't agree to those terms, he shouldn't release the photo under that license and we can't use it here. Robman94 (talk) 22:06, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your prompt and most helpful reply, Rob! I am most grateful, as always.

Ways to improve Redbird (band)
editHi, I'm Rosguill. Robman94, thanks for creating Redbird (band)!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. While it appears that Redbird passes WP:GNG and WP:BAND based on coverage cited on other Wikipedia pages related to the band, this article needs more citations to non-trivial, non-self-published coverage of the band.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
Rosguilltalk 23:03, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Rosguill:, to be honest, I don't even know the band, I just created the page because I noticed that there were pages for both of their albums and for all 3 members, but not for the band itself. As all 3 members are notable, the page is allowed. I added some refs but called it a stub in the hopes that other editors such as yourself would add more. Robman94 (talk) 01:31, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi Andrew, thanks for improving the page we have on you here at Wiki. I notice that you deleted some of the albums from the discography, is this because you didn't really perform on those albums? If that is the case, we will need to correct the articles on those albums too.
Here are the albums in question:
- Ernie Graham debut - the Discogs page lists you on it.
- The Rose of England (album) - Nick Lowe
- Rock 'n' Roll Adult - Garland Jeffreys.
Thanks again, Rob. Robman94 (talk) 21:49, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Rob, great to speak at last, and thanks so much for creating a page for me - when I first discovered it a few years back I was very surprised (and flattered!) that anyone had bothered! As I'm sure you're aware, I don't really know what I'm doing when wiki-editing (a steep learning curve) so apologies for having mucked anything up. Yes, I just thought I'd add a few general details, and take out those 3 albums you mentioned as I don't play on any of them. I've seen the Ernie Graham connection elsewhere, but I don't know where it originated. I hope you don't mind me inserting the alternative close-up photo either? Have also added 3 recordings (Desmond Dekker, RTG and The Sing Market). Hope all's well in Chicago, Best for now, Andrew x Berioboy (talk) 17:23, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hey Andrew, I hate to question your memory, but I checked the actual record sleeves for the Nick Lowe (pic) and Garland Jeffreys (pic) albums and they both list you in the credits, are you sure you didn't play on them? According to Discogs, you just played on the song "Long Walk Back" on Nick's album. Perhaps it was originally recorded for another album and was later added to this one? What do you think? Dear Rob Once again, thank you very much for contributing a photo for use in the article on Robert Desnos! Not only did you take the initiative of cleaning up the original, but you also cropped it into a more useful portrait format, for better space occupancy in the infobox. As so often before, you went out of your way to help a fellow editor and I wanted you to know that your generous assistance is much valued; thank you! Musics magazine
editI saw that you've worked on Musics (magazine). I would like to see more in-line citations in that article so I can remove the eleven year old template as soon as possible. Can you do that? I would like to see every sentence with a citation. The "History and profile" section has only one citation, on the first sentence. Where did the rest of the information come from?
Vmavanti (talk) 01:55, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Vmavanti: To tell you the truth, I don't remember how I stumbled across that article, it was probably on a list of un-referenced articles, so I added a bunch to it. It was one single ref when I started. I doubt that I'll be doing any more work on it, I was just getting it started so someone else could expand on my work. Any reason why you couldn't do it? Robman94 (talk) 01:43, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
- Absence of sources. Oh, and over 4000 other articles on the jazz Cleanup Listing covering the past eleven years. For the most part two of us are doing the work.
Vmavanti (talk) 02:09, 6 July 2019 (UTC)- @Vmavanti:, I've done what I can. I suspect that the majority of the content in this article was written by one or more of the guys originally involved with the magazine, so it's from their memory. Robman94 (talk) 19:59, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I appreciate it.

Record labels in Discographies
editHi Qlazarus, I noticed that you've been making many edits to discographies and one of the changes that you're doing is to remove the record label from the list. I assumed there must have been some change to the MOS asking for this, but I checked and listing the label is still valid, so may I ask, why are you doing that? Thanks, Rob. I'd like to host a casual meetup in Chicago to celebrate Wikidata Day on Saturday, October 26.
Proposed location is Engine Coffee in the Wicker Park/West Town area, at 11AM.
Here is the official meetup page, where you can add yourself as an attendee.
(If you would prefer not to see messages like this, go ahead and take yourself off this list.)
Hope to see you all there!
