Welcome!

Disclaimer: My writings should not be viewed as a completely accurate depiction of my views; rather, they should be viewed as an effort to achieve a more accurate portrayal of topics near and dear to me.

Although Wikipedia attempts to be a perfectly neutral medium, it falls short of that goal. One of the problems crops up when a biased author writes an article which contains valid information mixed with invalid information. As Wikipedia frowns on the deletion of such articles, the only solution is to modify the article gradually until it can be said to contain something approaching neutral information.

Nahallac Silverwinds, also known by the abbreviation Naha on the Internet, is an American contributor to Wikipedia. Nahallac Silverwinds was first used in 2002 as my EverQuest persona. Since that time I have used it in a myriad of places throughout the Internet as one of my pseudonyms.

Wiki Work

I am easily distracted, so my train of thought tends to get derailed by another interest, but sooner or later I hope to get around to completing everything I've started!

The following is a list of contributions I have made to Wikipedia. By no means is this a complete list of every article I've ever edited, but rather an (incomplete) listing of articles where I feel my contributions are at least worth noting here.

People

Since there is nothing inherently interesting about me this is a close as I can get.

My relatives include:

People I have met and actually had a conversation with:

  • Dick Cavett Super Cool guy, he visited with my small group of friends before a live performance of Rocky Horror, Picture Show in NYC.
  • Mike Sherman Next door neighbor for several years. Played with all of his kids growing up.
  • Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) - I actually met both Peter and his wife in 2006 when he was one of the two major guests at AggieCon that year. At the time I didn't understand the whole "Hon Shot First" ordeal. (I didn't even know what it meant). So I thought "when will I ever get a chance to ask a major actor from Star Wars about something like this?" So I asked Peter, "Would you mind explaining the whole "Han Shot First thing? I don't know what it means." Peter looked at me, shrugged, and said, "I honestly have no idea." Then his wife stepped forward, rolled her eyes at him, and SHE proceeded to explain the whole thing (hahaha). She reminded me of the fight between Han Solo and [Greedo]] in the Mos Eisley Cantina. Then she said George Lucas's decisions to re-edit the film again (it had already been done once for a 1997 re-release) for the 2004 Blu-ray re-release included a major change in that scene: when Han and Greedo are sitting at the table talking, he had it edited to show Han Solo and Greedo's characters basically shooting each other at the same time. Han still dodges and kills Greedo, but it no longer clearly showed Han taking the first shot like he did in the original 1977 theatrical release of the film. She said other more minor changes to the films were made, but this one had caused a huge uproar and dissent between Lucas and Star Wars fans because it paints a different picture of who Han really is.
  • Jeff Dee and incidentally, he told me City of Villains is his favorite MMO.
  • Skeeter Hagler / Erwin H. Hagler personal friend and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer.
  • Sasha Cooke I attended school with this amazing Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano! College Station, TX, class of 1999. Why she doesn't have her own Wikipedia article, I don't know. https://sashacooke.instantencore.com/web/bio.aspx

Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet

It is generally difficult to judge the worthiness of a particular topic for inclusion in an encyclopedia considering that there is no certain way to know what interests people, but some topics nevertheless are not fit for an encyclopedia.

This motto reflects the desire of these Wikipedians to be reluctant, but not entirely unwilling, to remove articles from Wikipedia.
