I'm a fourth-year college student going into community health education. For a career I will hopefully be working with drug and alcohol education or college health promotion(or even better a combination of the two).
My academic interests aside from public health are:
- The history and cultural implications of horror films and comics/graphic novels
- Old English
- Languages in general; I'm adding Japanese to my mix of language backgrounds this year
- Philosophy, particularly Utilitarian ethics
- History of diseases/epidemics
- Germanic and Scandinavian history and mythology
In my spare time I mainly read, watch movies, game, play with my dogs and enjoy life in simple ways.
I'm fiercely proud of being a North Dakotan. It takes a hardy folk to still be friendly while shoveling a foot of snow out of their driveway at -30 degrees.
For those who may notice something familiar about my user name: I am indeed a Tolkien fan, nigh on fanatic. It was the first fantasy I ever read and it was deeply moving to me and created in me a great love of epic fantasy.
