The date is redundant, but it would definitely be an improvement The Great Mule of Eupatoria (talk) 05:41, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support changing the page title to "Ba'athist insurgency in Western Syria (December 2024-present)", which is more precise. Shadowwarrior8 (talk) 08:52, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support changing the page title to Assad loyalist insurgency in Syria (December 2024–present) per RS.[1][2][3][4] Most sources describe the insurgents as "Assad loyalists" rather than "Ba'athists". Skitash (talk) 16:52, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
OpposeThe clashes had just started and you’re calling it a full blown insurgency? You must include sources that call it such 78.182.139.241 (talk) 19:54, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Comment Is a disambiguator even necessary? Why not just Ba'athist insurgency in Syria? Charles Essie (talk) 14:49, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wait until it became clear whether this will escalate into a real insurgency, or will remain limited to a kind of mop up operation against the remnants of the former regime. If it does escalate, I will support moving to Ba'athist insurgency in Syria. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 17:54, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oppose the proposed title, since it is imprecise and inaccurate. The unrest is limited to parts of Alawite-dominated Western Syrian regions, which were once strongholds of Assad loyalists.
Also, as Skitash pointed out earlier, news reports and sources are describing it as "Assad loyalist" or "Assadist" attacks and riots.
Moreover, the Syrian Ba'ath party itself is inactive following the fall of the Assad regime. Additionally, several news reports have stated that the neo-ba'athist organizations are structurally collapsing across Syria.
Therefore, these attacks are more related to those neo-Ba'athist armed factions which went rogue after the fall of Assad regime.
Hence, the page title should be moved to "Assadist insurgency in Western Syria (December 2024-present)" or "Assad loyalist insurgency in Western Syria (December 2024-present)", which is precise. Shadowwarrior8 (talk) 03:07, 31 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Could we change the name as "Weatern Syria Insurgeny" ? Sr. Blud (talk) 16:07, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Strong Support There was videos from ex assadist soldiers saying they wont give up and its just a more fitting and descriptive title tbh. Yesyesmrcool (talk) 23:34, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wait to see if it does escalate into a full-blown insurgency. Per Sundostund. Psychloppos (talk) 10:51, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wait, but oppose titles with "Assad loyalist insurgency" or "Assadist insurgency": per @Sundostund. If the Syrian Popular Resistance launches a full-on Ba'athist insurgency that goes beyond mere loyalist clashes, then I would support a version of the proposed title that lacks parenthetical disambiguation. –Gluonz talk contribs 23:36, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
