Julio Iglesias

edit

The values on Julio Iglesias are not even close to be correct. The values are wrong with over 150 million in both certified and claimed values. The source referenced in this article does not say anything about records sales at all. Almost all souces states that it is claimed that Julio has sold over 300 million records (for example the official Julio Iglesias website) which means the 150 million stated in this article is very wrong and cannot be backed up by any reliable source. And the certified sales is also just plain wrong. A simple google search shows that julio has much much more than 51.7 million sales. For example according to "JULIO IGLESIAS album sales" from the bestsellingalbums.org Julio has sold over 220 million records worldwide which is ceritified. Thats a 326% increase and wrong with about 168 million records, so the values in this article is extremely wrong. Julio also got a guiness world record for most sold latin artist of all time, where it is stated that he has sold 250 million records. Julio sold most of his records in the 70-90s which means the values in this arcticle has never been close to being correct. The claimed record sales should be changed to 300 million and the total certified units should be changed to 220 million +. I cannot change in this article so maybe someone else can help. You are absolutely right. Just about all websites are indicative that yes, Julio Iglesias has sold over 300 million records worldwide. However in all fairness, this best selling listing directory is still a work in progress. Many contributors/wikipedians coupled with the fine editors of this article have been sorting out through how best to proceed in properly tabulating and formally adjusting the claimed sales of many entertainers, including but not limited to, Julio Iglesias. To reiterate, it's still a work in progress. In closing, updating the sales data of many of these artists is something that we are all striving for. Thank you for your contribution. Thank you for the great response. Have a nice day! And if someone who can change in this article and have the time to do so, go ahead and adjust the values. Regardless have a nice day you too! JannePotatis (talk) 08:58, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Doors

edit

I don't understand the reason, why the entry The Doors total sales in America, certified by the RIAA in the link below in the description of 47 million, then we should add the 600,000 of the sales of video albums, for a total of 47,600 is not corrected, instead it is always stopped at 42,850. https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?advance_search=1&tab_active=awards_by_artist&type_option=ST&type=all#search_section 82.55.102.140 (talk) 14:10, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Roberto Carlos

edit

The link for the Brazilian artiste Roberto Carlos on this page links to the footballer rather than the singer. Can it be corrected? OskarJacobsen (talk) 00:10, 31 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Some artists need to move up the ranking due to higher certified units.

Elvis correction

edit

Elvis has sold more records than Michael Jackson. This error needs to be fixed. This is unacceptable Mistag1958 (talk) 16:36, 6 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

"I Don't sound like Nobody" Elvis Presley quote from 1953. And on the eve of Elvis Presley's 90th birthday being celebrated by millions tomorrow January 8th 2025; Let's examine Elvis Presley by the numbers. According to the Guinness Book of World Records he currently has 117 Gold albums 67 Platinum Albums and has surpassed The Beatles on Multiplatinum albums. They use to lead with 26, Presley now leads with 27 Multiplatinum albums. A correction needs to be made on the Multiplatinum albums echelon for Presley on his "Wikipedia Biographical Page"(See listing of Achievements). Nevertheless, these are the new numbers for RIAA albums. As for singles, Presley has 54 Gold 27 Platinum and 7 Multiplatinum singles. Overall, Presley has a combined total of 299 RIAA certificates. This is more than any other solo artist or group, given for United States sales alone. Presley, is by far ahead of the second place Beatles, who have a combined total of 121 RIAA certificates. Elvis Presley's worldwide totals are in excess of ONE BILLION RECORDS. In fact, Guinness World Records bestows the honor on Presley as the best selling solo artist of all time, to reiterate, with a billion estimated record sales. Moreover, and with these facts alone, you are correct. However, as I previously stated to other contributors who were unequivocally correct in addressing correction to issues pertaining to this best selling listing directory, this article is still a work in progress. We are trying to proceed by making the proper adjustments in sales tabulations to many other artists such Julio Iglesias, ABBA, Frank Sinatra, The Doors and countless others, not just with Presley. We are valiantly striving to achieve legitimacy without being nominated for deletion again. In closing, give us sometime; the contributors/Wikipedians and fine editors of this best selling listing directory are trying to sort out how best to proceed. Thank you for your input.
