What is the typical Ca(OH)2 concentration used in the feed solution?203.59.98.87 (talk) 08:48, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

This would depend on the hardness of the water to be softened, so a water analysis would be done first. It is important not to add an excess of lime as this would actually increase hardness. Biscuittin (talk) 08:58, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Most of the last section on Waste Products, starting at the second paragraph (In a typical limestone treatment system influent flows enter the bottom...) seems utterly irrelevant since it discusses the treatment of acidic waste, while the waste from lime softening is alkaline. 209.195.115.88 (talk) 15:03, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
