Demographics
edit1872 census:
- Total population: about 14.000
- Crimean Tatars: 6480
- Turks in Bulgaria: 4560
- Christian population (Bulgarians, Armenians in Bulgaria, Gagauz people, Karamanlides): no more than 2000
Source: BEKAROV, Danail - Hacioglu Pazarcik, Nyakogashniyat Dobrich, ot XIV v do 1882 g.
- Don't be shy to add this info to the article, it's interesting and useful; it's no surprise the urban dwellers were mostly Tatars and Turks in the late 19th century, Bulgarians were a mostly rural population in Dobruja at the time. Already in the beginning of the 20th century, Bulgarians became the urban majority in Dobrich (even according to Romanian censuses). However, if you insert this into the article, please provide a page citation if possible, and note that the author's name is transliterated as Bekyarov. Todor→Bozhinov 20:55, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
