Talk:2011 Argentine general election

Precandidates

edit

Political analysts have pointed, at many editorials here and there, that the Death of Néstor Kirchner redefines completely the political context of Argentina. And one of those things are the candidates for 2011, the change is not limited to the absence of Néstor Kirchner. Kirchnerism, as we know it, is likely to dissapear, but Federal Peronism (the peronism front united against Kirchner) is likely to dissapear as well. We have also yet to see whenever Cristina still wants to run for a second term or simply end her mandate and retire from politics. Or whenever, without a clear adversary to defeat, the UCR stays allied to the socialist party or tries luck on its own. Or whenever Moyano stays at the gremialist level and leaves his government desires for later, as he was doing, or if the death of Kirchner and the sudden loss of a PJ leader tempts him to fill that role rigth now, before someone else do so first.

The most important question, the one that will shape the future of Argentine politics, is how will Cristina continue from now on, joining "hawks" or "doves", the aggresive or moderated sectors.

For now, we should wait and see what happens. MBelgrano (talk) 11:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

well, add the analysis to the page now with cites even if its speculation. when things firm we can re-edit that part.
its bound to change, and what is needed is cited showing the change. so feel free to change it. ill remove the tag pending your changes.Lihaas (talk) 05:21, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Duhalde

edit

Sorry for writing in spanish: es que estoy apurado. No entiendo por qué Duhalde está como tercero con posibilidades, no me parece que tenga suficiente apoyo significante para aparecer resaltado. Saludos.--Falerístico (talk) 01:09, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually, Duhalde and Alfonsín have close numbers. Perhaps the election will polarize at some point, and divide people into two main candidates, but that's not the scenario yet. Cambalachero (talk) 01:31, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

First female president reelected in western hemisphere?

edit

It says that Fernández was the first female president reelected in Latin America. Since only the US(which has never elected a woman), Guyana (which did not reelect their president) and Canada (does not have a president) are not part of latin america, does that mean Fernández is the first women reelected in the western hemisphere? "Carrió withdrew her presidential bid"

edit

No, she didn't. She actually got something around 1,8% of the votes, it's on the summary of this very article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.130.183.43 (talk) 00:23, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Article Split

edit

Hi. I split the article into two seperate articles. To match the template. Thanks.--Mercosur arg (talk) 15:34, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have objected to the split, and you have made a terrible mess of articles by cut and paste moves. Number 57 17:59, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
There is no such term as "general" election in the election template. France is a good example and we will follow their example.--Mercosur arg (talk) 19:54, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't matter that there is no general election in the template. The French elections have separate articles because those elections are held on separate days. Please stop making cut and paste moves. Number 57 21:15, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
