Qualification Competition

edit

Laos won Group I of the qualifying round and was placed in Group C of the finals, but was disqualified after an investigation by the Asian Football Confederation's disciplinary committee found that the team fielded an over-aged player in the AFC U-13 football tournament in Laos in April 2005.[1] Australia, which finished behind Laos in the qualification, did not take the slot, hence no replacement was made for Laos. Therefore, only fifteen teams competed in the final tournament.
