First images of Powerpuff Girls sets
Posted by Huw,LEGO has just published pictures of Powerpuff Girls sets on social media.
There are no set names, prices or any other information so we'll have to make do with these two images for now.
Update: The Brick Fan has published more images of 41287 Bubbles Playground Showdown and 41288 Mojo Jojo Strikes which will cost $19.99 and $29.99 respectively.
Are you looking forward to this theme?

I shouldn't love them, but I do!
Move over Darth Vader & Garmadon; you ain't got nothing on Mojo Jojo...
One shall be the number of Mojo Jojos in the world, and the number of Mojo Jojos in the world shall be one. Two Mojo Jojos is too many, and three is right out. So the only Mojo Jojo there is room for in the world shall be me.
The horror....the horror....
These almost look like junior sets.
"Are you looking forward to this theme?" I have honestly never looked forward to a theme less. And that's saying a lot coming off of the reveal of the Uni-kitty theme! But hey, Lego has proven me wrong before, here's hoping that they can pull this off!
Probably still a hard pass.
@Link__O_Neal Lets hope they're not priced like Juniors sets...
I love that LEGO is helping me save money because I will not by purchasing any of these sets!
Is PowerPuff girls even a thing anymore? I remember it from college, but that was 20 years ago... Seems like Lego is a bit late to the game.
@LegoAthos these sets are based off of the 2016 cartoon that’s still running. It’s terrible, but it’s releavnt.
Arghhh!! *Reaches for the eye bleach* They're hideous.
Star Wars 1977, Ghostbusters 1984, Back To The Future 1985, Simpsons 1989, Harry Potter 2001..
Just saying.. If they make Monty Python or Big Lebowski sets 2 decades from now I'll buy those too =)
F*** that reboot! I'm not buying any of them!
Wow... they are even worse than the blurry pictures made them look.
I'll probably buy them just for the figures my two girls will love them but probably build something different and better out of the parts.. Please lego make the jetsons and Johnny bravo maybe wacky races, id buy every set..
It appears some people here think these sets are designed with them in mind...
It appears some people here think these sets were designed at all and not just parts thrown in a box with old Dimension minifigures.
Yeah... these are Juniors. Juniors assembled by some 5-year-old who knows next to nothing about the characters.
It appears some people here think they know how to run a successful toy business...
They’re plastic toys, everyone complaining needs to get a grip, you’re not the target audience.
@David1985 and @iriz, can’t we all try to get along. It’s okay to disagree but we should be respectful to eachother about it. ;-)
Anyway, I personally don’t imagine I will be buying any of these. I do like the Protagonist characters’ minifigures, though.
The builds really hold the middle between Juniors and 'regular' ones to me, they make the sets look like glorified character packs; something hardcore collectors won't fall for, considering everyone and their mom were able to get the three girls for cheap via the Dimensions discounts.
I never liked the original series (CN had much better shows on at the time) and the reboot is pure unfettered trash, so hard passes on these for me.
@iriz, nice line of reasoning; next time you dare levy any criticism at a head of state, government, restaurant, or whatever else, I will assume you too know how to run a succesful whatever. Don't be a meanie :^)
Lost has the Lego plot. Or something like that.
I love the look of these and I really want them!!!
Of course they are based off the shitty ass 2016 reboot. the Powerpuff Girls 2016 maybe a god awful show, but the toys don't look too bad. It's just too bad that the 2016 PPG show sucks.
The sets look iffy. The figures look great. Too bad they already released the trio in Dimensions. It makes these sets superfluous for anyone that has the Dimensions sets. Although I do want Mojo Jojo for sure. The rest I can skip. At $30, I'll wait for a sale (since we all know the figure alone will go for a ridiculous amount compared to the price of the set).
The playground looks cool, especially the mech that appears to be attacking it. I’ll pass on the Mojo Jojo set.
These actually look pretty cool. Love that monkey!
This is a pass but Mojo Jojo I is cool.
Whatever we adults fan of lego think about these sets or from the 2016 show, all I can tell is that this show turns on TV these days and has its audience, 6 to 10 years old girls and they really love those little courageous and colorful characters, super heroe girls. Even if we parents don't like it and think it's not good at all. And I'm pretty sure that target audience will like both minifigs and accessories. My daughter has just seen them and already wants them all. And won't wait neither mind my opinion to feel if that could be good to get.
Wait, what am I looking at?
I’m getting to old for this shit!
I spy allegedly "color locked" Mixels ball joint pieces on the mech... in a new color.
I'm tempted by the Powerpuff Girls figs themselves, although they still look as awful as they did for their Dimensions packs releases.
Between this and the Unikitty sets (oh yeah, they'll fly off the shelves), I can't help but feel like Lego has rooms full of dozens of people at the moment (who all have either degrees in marketing or child development or something) who have designed a lot of these sets because, "We know what children like. We've studied this!" or something.
I think they're panicking and over-compensating because their profit margins retracted slightly. Between this and the App-based Batmobile (gosh, the hide of Lego to charge that much money for that), I think they've got something going wrong somewhere.
Just looking at them is giving me physical pain!
Some people might know better than me, but when I see licenses that are from properties that are not in vogue anymore or not being made, it's probably for Lego to keep other companies from getting this particular license and/or they have/paid for the license and time is running out to use it so they need to produce something with it.
I was hoping the hands on the mech would have been the same ones on Mr.Freeze's LEGO Batman Movie mech, which are currently exclusive to that set. It's a shame that they are just the Chima "power fist" part that can't hold on to anything.
Some Minor issues, but nothing big enough to make me dislike them as a whole.
@theJANG thanks for pointing out that new Mixel joint recolor. Hopefully it's not going to stay exclusive to this set.
That yellow mech is adorable. Probably won't get these since I already have one of the Dimensions packs and the other is cheap, but they're nice enough.
Princess Morbucks looks very inaccurate appearance. She never wear a pink tutu in the show.
Anyways, I would never ever buy those sets but that Mojo Jojo is cool.
Unfortunately, while the initial pictures seemed to show the "Technic, Steering Arm with 3 Ball Joints, Compact" and "Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Towball and Small Towball Socket on Ends" as black, the newer shots are almost certainly Dark Bley. Oh well. Maybe they will change colors some day.
I feel like this is kinda of market testing with the reuse of Dimensions figure, but anyway, not wasting Dimension exclusive licenses is a good thing so hope that we'll see more better PPG sets or instead some Portal or Oz sets.
I wonder if we get Teen Titans theme.
And Goonies and Beetlejuice, and other that were in Dimensions.
They're really nice but aren't they a little too expensive for what they are?
I understand they're licensed sets but still.
