Old School Beefcake: Rude vs Thompson

Let's travel back in time to the (I'm guessing) mid-1980s when wrestlers Rick Rude and Firebreaker Chip (aka Curtis Thompson) were two of the many beefcake wrestlers on the roster of World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Content creator Sean Pford posted their singles match on YouTube and you can watch it here.

Rude Behavior

A friend of mine sent me a link to a match between two of the hottest beefcakes from the 1980s, Nikita Koloff and Ravishing Rick Rude. Koloff takes a beating from the Ravishing One in this clip. Watch it here. Speaking of Rick Rude, I think the man had one of the best if not THE best body in pro wrestling during the 1980s. He was chiseled but not too massive and had the kind of taut washboard abs that everyone seems to covet these days. Truly a man ahead of his time! Shame about the garish tights though.

Rick Rude's Striptease

Whatever happened to the Jesse "The Body" Award? In the 80s, the WWE (or WWF as they were called back then) and wrestler-turned-commentator Jesse "The Body" Ventura gave out such an award during a televised Slammy Awards show. Said award went to the very deserving "Ravishing" Rick Rude seen here accepting his trophy while performing a PG-13 rated striptease. I say it's time to bring this award back! Who's with me?

Abs of Steel

Which wrestler made washboard abs a must-have in the business? For me, it was Ravishing Rick Rude back in the 1980s. Before Rude, most wrestlers had solid, muscular midsections, but The Ravishing One had a small, tight waistline and chiseled abdominals.  Nowadays, wrestlers with six-packs proudly show off what they work so hard for. Here's a mini-gallery of some great abs.
