Robert Hurlbutt

Robert G. Hurlbutt was a judge on the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department. Governor Pataki designated him to this position in February of 1999.[1] He retired on December 31, 2009.[2][3]


Education

Judge Hurlbutt received Bachelor of Laws and J.D. degrees from Albany Law School in 1964. He later taught law classes at the State University of New York at Oswego.[1]

Career

Judge Hurlbutt was admitted to the practice of law in December of 1964. He practiced law with Leonard H. Amdursky and the two formed the law firm Amdursky and Hurlbutt in 1970. Hurlbutt worked as a Town Attorney for Minetto, NY from 1972 to 1975 and as an Oswego County District Attorney from 1977 to 1982. He was then elected to the Oswego County Court. In 1987, he was elected to the Supreme Court of the State of New York. He was re-elected in 2001.[1]
