A Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed). He has also designed the human characters for the children's anime series, Hamtaro.
He married voice actress and songstress Takayama Minami, who voiced Conan in the anime adaptation of his manga, on May 5, 2005 but they divorced on December 10, 2007.
