Eric Rosenthal (10 Julie 1905, Nuweland, Kaapstad – 1983) was 'n Suid-Afrikaanse historikus en outeur. Hy het sy graad in die regte verwerf aan die Universiteit van die Witwatersrand en word 'n prokureur. Hy word later 'n joernalis en outeur van korporatiewe geskiedenis.

Hy was lid van die Three Wise Men op Springbokradio se vasvraprogram Test the Team. Hy was die oudste van twee kinders. Sy ouers was Richard Rosenthal en Hedwig de Beer. Hy het gedurende sy skoolloopbaan onder andere Parktown Preparatory School in Johannesburg en St. John's College bygewoon. Rosenthal trou op 18 Desember 1934 met Jenny Bradley in Westcliff, Johannesburg. Ná sy aftrede vestig hy hom in Vishoek naby Kaapstad.
