To promote international exchange, Wikimedia Deutschland again offers the possibility of tandem applications: Active community members from Germany, both first-time and repeat applicants, can also apply for a Tandem Scholarship together with international community members in addition to their normal application. Since chapters from Northern, Western, Southern and Central Europe often have their own scholarship processes and therefore participation is easier, international tandem partners residing apart these regions are particularly preferred. For this purpose, both applicants have to complete the form on their own.

Please note: Wikimedia Deutschland can provide scholarships for participation in Wikimania 2025 to minors only if they are traveling together with a parent or legal guardian. Travel costs for this accompanying person are not part of the scholarship.

Activities in the Wikimedia projects

A list of notes is sufficient and it’s also fine to provide links for your activities and documentations. Specific project ideas that you would like to tackle soon or that are already being realized are also welcome.

With regards to onwiki activities: Which tasks and roles do you take on? To which projects do you contribute and how? What technical contributions have you made? How do you advance the projects you work on? How do you collaborate with others to achieve your goals?

With regards to offwiki activities: For example, have you worked together with other community members, organised workshops, meet-ups or events? How did that work out? Are you active in a local group or local community space?

Tell us about your recent involvement in your home wiki or the broader Wikimedia movement.

e.g. What have you built or contributed to in order to improve your wiki or community? What’s something great that happened as a result of these activities? Have you led or organized any of these activities? What collaborations with other Wikimedians or Wikimedia organizations are you most proud of? Please indicate which of these activities have taken place in the last 12 months and which should or will take place in 2025. This could be described either quantitatively or qualitatively, and could impact either online or offline.

Which international projects do you want to learn about? Why are your learnings important for your work in Wikimedia projects? How does this impact your developer activities? Do you want to give a session, contribute as a volunteer? Which skills would you like to share and how? How will your contribution relate to this year’s conference topic?

Sharing and follow up

How do you plan to share your learnings from Wikimania in the Wikimedia projects, in local groups, technical spaces, and beyond? How do you plan to follow up on projects you initiated or your ideas and make a lasting impact in your community?

Please be specific about communication channels and formats you want to use for documentation and sharing before, during, and after the conference. In case you have already attended a Wikimania, please tell us how you shared your experiences in the past, how it worked and provide links.

e.g. Which ideas and topics would you like to discuss and promote together in which formats (sessions, working groups, etc.)? Which projects have you both jointly worked on in the past and what do you plan together in the future? Why is it important that you do this as a tandem? What do you want to learn from your partner respectively?
