    • Q:

What months are the hot tubs open? Was there in December and they were closed?

      A:

The hot tubs are open year round I believe - we stayed at the end of November and they were open. The pool is drained and barricaded off.

    • Q:

Pool is not open in the winter?

      A:

It is closed during winter season. They only have an outdoor pool

Beautiful and welcoming staff. Their rooms are absolutely beautiful! They have the best bedding in the world. I could have laid in bed forever.

All the restaurants have Happy Hour.

Highly recommend for a quick get-a-away!

Word of advice to beginners you had to have cash I don't take credit cards and I really need to have cash on hand to bet the kiosk also requires that you have a voucher you need cash to place a bet!

The housekeeper in this hotel is AWSOME!!
Helpful, polite, and friendly she also does a great job at cleaning the room !!

We booked a night because we came for a concert at the Hard Rock Arena. Golden Nugget hotel rate was lower than Hard Rock Hotel.

The main entrance is where you would unload/load and valet your car, so it was busy! We were there off-season, so imagine in the summer it must be pure chaos. You take the escalator/elevator to the 2nd floor.

The 2nd floor is where all of the action is. The Casino, several restaurants, and many shops. 3rd floor are conference rooms, spa and the buffet restaurant for the select clubs.

The other side of the ground level, down an escalator, is a cafe and the path to the parking garage, which is a separate structure. It's overwhelming for someone who has never been to a hotel/casino. The checkin desk is at the FAR side of the floor past the 2 escalators.

There are different lines for different levels of rewards. Checkin was easy and painless. We booked through hotel.com. However, there is an additional $32/night, resort fee, upon checkin... Wished hotel.com told us this...

Then you head to the large bank of elevators. It looked like the hotel started on the 8th floor and up. We didn't have time to wander on the other floors, but there was a pool and fitness room somewhere.

Golden Nugget looks old compared to the other shiny hotels/casinos in Atlantic City. But surprisingly the room was very nice. It looks like it was renovated and updated. The room is huge and clean. The water pressure was wonderful. Our room faced the garage, and there is a helipad at the top, lol

      My only complaints are:
The sheets felt rough on my skin. The lights by the bed had loose joints so it didn't move/stay where you want...
The thing that bugged us the most was that there was no latch on the door for added security. Considering the amount of alcohol available on site, this was very concerning for us. Luckily, nothing happened. And it was just 1 night.

Parking is free, and 4 EV charging too boot! 2 Tesla and 2 J1772, but you have to ask the valet team to unlock a chain securing the area.

Booked through Expedia for $50. Upon check in there is a sign that says $35 resort fee. My stay was good. About a 5 minute drive to the boardwalk. The A/C in the room blew but it wasn't blowing cold air. If you are looking for a hotel with nightlife this isn't it. The water in the room is $4 a bottle I think that is ridiculous. The room has no microwave.

I enjoyed my stay. Nice classic hotel, not overrun with crowds of people. 1 TV. An attempt at a modern bathroom. I wasn't feeling the 3/4 shower door or the sliding style barn door for the bathroom. The nice, comfy, large bed was great. You have a huge window to lookout from. You are only allowed to lower the room temp to 65. I don't know why not any lower. Very friendly, attentive staff. Great restaurants on premises! I'm not a gambler, so I didn't spend any time in the casino. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms.

Stayed here March 2024 for the second time. I first stayed here January 2023. I am shocked to see. I forgot to leave a review back then. But, this does give me an opportunity to give my impressions after two separate stays one year apart.

      pro: They have excellent restaurants.
Con: The restaurants are hardly open for business. there is this bizarre schedule where the restaurants are only open certain days of the week. For example, despite 8 dining options (including room service) Only THREE were open on Tuesday. All. day.

In the two visits I've stayed there, I could never order room service or try the burger place because that was never open on the days I was there.

On Tuesday we had to go off property for something to eat because apparently it's unthinkable to be hungry at night when you're staying at a 24-hour entertainment complex?? There are NO dining options after 10 pm.

It's universal that Sunday- Thursday are the lowest room rates for Atlantic City. I would think there would be more people like me who take advantage of those low rates and we want to eat food!

I presume the restaurants are independently contracted and maybe the hotel can't make them operate on a particular schedule? But why not ROOM SERVICE? Why is room service only open a few days a week ??

Michael Patricks doesn't even open until 9 am for breakfast on most days. If I have a meeting starting at 8 or 8:30... I literally cannot get any food. It's ridiculous! I worked on an empty belly until Happy Hour at 4 PM so I could get food (which is also why I was hungry again after 10 PM!) ugghhhhhh

For complete transparency, I am gluten-free. The coffee shop is open, God bless them, they are open seven days a week. But there's nothing I can eat there. Everything is a prepackaged sandwich. I don't want to eat pieces of fruit when I am hungry and ready for a meal.

Pro: They're under renovations (excited to see the new rooms!)
Con: They're under renovations. lol. but seriously, yes, there's construction noise which actually didn't bother me. However, that means the room availability is very low. That also means when I asked to change rooms because the people next-door were unbearably loud, it was difficult to move because they had such low inventory due to all the construction. We were offered smoking or 2 dble beds. However, the manager, whose name I did not get, ultimately found us a NS King & I was very appreciative to her & the lovely Sabrina, the front desk associate, who gave me keys to our new room. She was very empathetic and funny and I felt terrible about making a fuss, but it really was insufferable. The construction noise bothered me less than these people!

      Pro: New Hi-tech parking-by-plate system.
Con: Parking is no longer free.

Pro: The slots are more fun than I imagined.
Con: I only know that b/c the tables were terribly sad. Hardly any were open and sometimes the dealers were standing there with no one playing. If no one is playing, why not reduce the minimum bet to $10? They have $10 blackjack tables at Oceans during the day! And that casino was packed day and night.

Finally, Rush Lounge is the only live music venue open during the week, that's another missed opportunity for something livelier. Every night is the same, sad act of a person and their guitar. Nobody wants that. Why not have a DJ? Why not vary the genres of music being offered? Have a comedian, a magician, quizzo, ANYTHING INTERESTING TO DO b/c when the restaurants closed & there's no one at the tables, we went to McDonalds.

Anywho- GN is still cool for a low key good time, in depending on the day, that "key" is lower and lower,

This hotel and casino is very, very old. But I would still recommend it if you want to experience a classic casino.

They definitely need to upgrade all of their casino machines as they are easily tender 20 years old.

But I will say that the staff was super friendly and very nice

Zero friendly for scooters, and they said if you park them there they will cut your lock off and remove the scooters. They claim to own the street to the Marina so if you chain to a pole they will cut it off.

There are maybe 6 .25 machine maybe a dozen 1 dollars ones and everything else is penny machines. Very uninviting casino.
