Thin crust pizza, just like back home
Ask the Community
Q:
Is your (new) Italian sausage permanent of temporary. My sausage tastes so bad of freezer burn I had to take it all off to enjoy. Please bring back the OG sausage?! 🙏🏼
A:
If you have a problem with your pizza order call the restaurant they'll make it right. I personally don't like the sausage, but I'm also a picky eater

I am sorry to ask but I am Siciliano and cannot handle wet dough pizza since we use Focaccia bread down there - does Bronx style include the soft center or a wet part or are your pies cooked until the crust is firm? Don Liponi
A:
Don, as a former NYr they don't have Sicilian, just the best Neapolitan pies with great thin crust. Also Calzones. Voted top 20 pizzerias in the US!!

Love this pizza, prefer to eat it at the location, 2 slices and a drink is a perfect remedy for my pizza fixation.
I enjoy both the traditional as well as the white stone.
It's great to go and heats right back up on our Pizza stone set at 425* for a few minutes.
Simply New York thin crust pizza that's sure to satisfy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarai A.La Mesa, United StatesJan 4, 20251 check-in
My family has been coming to Bronx Pizza for years, and it remains one of our favorite spots. The customer service is always spot on--friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Even when there's a line, it moves quickly, so you're never waiting too long for that first bite.
The pizza here is consistently amazing. It's flavorful, perfectly crunchy, and always comes out piping hot. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve.
The interior is on the smaller side, but they've made great use of the space, and there's plenty of seating. However, if it's busy, grabbing a pie to go is always a good option. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend Bronx Pizza for anyone craving a classic, no-nonsense, delicious pizza experience!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Josue P.Van Nuys, Los Angeles, United StatesDec 26, 2024
Pizza is good. Better than most SD pizzas but not the best.
I'd say an A-. Pizza does seem to be authentic and has all the New York vibes, hip hop playing in the background and young dudes making your pizza in a very lax and chill ambiance.
I had their Bronx deluxe and I'm happy I had it. Will come back and try more pizzas. It's a cash only placeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 6, 2024
Best pizza place in San Diego. A no frills pizza shop that's cash only.
A cheese pizza is only $19. You get 8 giant slices that taste amazing. No idea how they do it, but no other New York style pizza in SD can compareHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 1, 202471 check-ins
Bronx is an area in New York City that is known for many things but on the top of the list, is it's known as the stadium place of the iconic baseball team New York Yankees.
Bronx Pizza has also achieved iconic status in San Diego for its New York style thin crust pizza. A simple menu of thin-crust pies & calzones lures longtime fans to this joint which is CASH ONLY! Like many people,
I rarely carry cash and it would be great if cashless pay is accepted.
Limited street parking is a challenge.
There is only indoor seating with no TV monitors, a very simple, not fancy
Interior space, which needs updating.
The menu is basically a small selection of their signature pizzas, calzones, simple ready made salads and sodas all reasonably priced.
The staff of mostly guys are usually super helpful and nice.
Have been coming here almost every week for takeout only, 2 slices with one to share with my pup, who loves the sausage and pepperoni, I like the Whitestone with spinach pizza, love that ricotta!
Last Wednesday, I stopped by to pickup a couple of slices to eat before the baseball game 5 of the 2024 World Series Dodger v Yankees at Yankees Stadium. As usual, my pup and I ate the pizzas...just like my team
the LA Dodgers ate the NY Yankees lol
As this review was way overdue, what better way to finally write about how ironic and iconic things come to full circle, Yankees got eaten, thanks to Bronx Pizza!! RecommendHelpful 29Thanks 11Love this 31Oh no 3 - Nov 16, 2024
As good as a proper NYC pizza gets outside of NYC. We just happened to be in the area and wanted a slice of pizza and had no idea ththere was something like this in SD.
I had to try them all--Whitestone, Whitstone with spinach, Pepperoni, and Tomato Basil. They were kind enough to throw in the Whitestone after I ordered because they ran out but shortly after brought out a fresh pie.
NYC pizza has a unique structure, if I can call it that. It requires lots of finesse and support because of the large, thin crust. But the ingredient hold up well with each bite, down to the thin crust.
Definitely worth a late night visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 2, 2024
Let me start by saying, I'm not a fan of NY Style pizza. Having said that; this pizza is unbelievably good. You'll love the sauce (just the right amount of tangyness) very good crust and the topping are top notch.
Over all a very good experience and you should definitely try this place.

When you talk about pizza in San Diego, Bronx Pizza keeps coming up as the closest thing to NY pizza. I was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens. This pizza is not close to great NY pizza. It is what I expect for a San Diego pizza. It was chewy, the crust was hard and the cheese was stringy. But the taste just wasn't there. It might have been better if we had eaten it right there when it would have been hot. They do have many different flavors. From typical cheese pizza with a tomato sauce to a white pizza called the Whitestone with 3 cheeses and no sauce, with many in between. There are also a great number of choices of slices. The only problem is that there are more of them listed on the menu online, but when you get there, your favorite may not be in the selection that day. Definitely don't choose until you see what they actually have.
It is a small place with few tables. There is no ambiance ( that is typical of a NY place). The staff is small. The window to pick up a pie only has one person manning the window. I can see where there would be a backup when it is crowded. The young man at the window, didn't even know that Whitestone isn't in the Bronx. Of course, only someone from NY would know that .
The bottom line is that we were disappointed. We are still in search of a real NY tasting pizza along with a real NY bagel. The search goes on.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 9, 2024
New York? Never heard of her.
This place is easily in my top 2 pizza places EVER (only losing to L'industrie, but let's be real, NO ONE is toping L'industrie).
Pies are cooked to order and slices are heated to order, but either way, the pizza is BOMB. The ratio of crust (thin!) to topping is just *muah*.
Doesn't matter what pie or slice you get, you can't go wrong. Just don't forget to bring cash as this place is cash only.
* parking is also nonexistent, so you gotta street park and walk over, but trust me, it's worth it.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 12, 2024
** CASH ONLY! ATM IS INSIDE! Charges $1.25 transaction fee**
I ordered a whole pie with half pepperoni,
Total came out to be $22.00 even. The pizza was very good and filling
When you walk in you're greeted with a smell of fresh in-house made pizza, amazing by the way.
Restaurant is very tidy and spacious, parking is street parking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
