How quickly will production move to Dchina? And how much will Yeti raise prices?

I find a yeti cup about 3-4 times a month on the trains. Passengers leave them behind.

From the article...

"MYSTERY RANCH and the team will continue to operate out of Bozeman and will work with YETI over the next several months to integrate teams and functions."

So, Yeti is a US Company, Mystery Ranch is a US company, and they are continuing operations in the US, what's the problem and where does China come into this?

Many Yeti products aren’t made in the USA. A lot of their drinkware is made in China.

Along with countless other US companies, but they are still a US business. From what I could glean from the article, it sounds like Mystery Ranch products will still be US made, so did anything really change with the purchase?

Your conclusion/title is not found anywhere in the article.

Well that's interesting

Lots of history with MR founder Dana Gleason. Back in the 90's Dana Design produced internal frame packs that were really good, but overpriced. Wayne Gregory made a comparable (in some ways better) pack at a much better price point. Lowe Alpine was a bit behind but the price reflected that. Then Arc'teryx came along and blew Dana out of the water. Truly innovative design and manufacturing processes. It wasn't just an extra water bottle pocket or straps, they were light years ahead 3D forming waist belts and back panels. Dana looked like a dinosaur next to them but still wanted to charge elevated prices

When I first saw MR I had no interest simply because of that history. I knew it was going to be overpriced and much of that cost would be driven by marketing. The mass consumer market is vastly different than what Dana really excels at, the government contracts for military and smoke jumpers that are highly specialized

As far as US based vs US manufactured... There is very little in the way of US manufacturing. Even if you wanted to produce a pack here there would be no one to do it, at least not on a production scale. The best we can do is try and source from a non-sweat shop overseas

It would be cool if every U.S. company had a disclosure like this, readily available on their interwebz....some have a lot more to hide, though.

Indeed it would. Just think if America were to go to war with China how much of the supply line for ALL PRODUCTS would stop in its tracks?

China needs to make American stuff more than we need them to make it.

Not sure about the history at all, and can't speak to that. I can speak about their modern parks and innovation. They are one of the best packs on the market. I have had several each one is better than the last.
