<Mark_M> I work with Jon Gunderson

<Mark_M> Hello! Nice to meet you

<Mark_M> I don't have a headset to speak at the moment

Feedback from TPAC

MCK: our work on APG described as "essential" and "on critical path" and "most important work"

JN: agrees

MCK: Google uses as reference to test

<mck> This guide illustrates appropriate use of ARIA 1.1 as defined in the ARIA specification. The design patterns, reference examples, and sample code intentionally

<mck> do not implement code to fix problems that are caused by gaps in support for ARIA 1.1 in browsers or assistive technologies. Browser and assistive technology

<mck> developers can thus utilize code in this guide to help assess the quality of their support for ARIA 1.1.

<mck> Similarly, JavaScript and CSS in this guide is written to be compatible with the most recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari

<mck> at the time of writing. In particular, some JavaScript and CSS may not function correctly in Internet Explorer version 10 or earlier.

<mck> In other words, except in cases where the ARIA Working Group and other contributors have overlooked an error, examples in this guide that do not function

<mck> well in a particular browser or with a specific assistive technology are demonstrating browser or assistive technology bugs.

<sirib> Is there a link

<mck> https://w3c.github.io/aria-practices/#browser_and_AT_support

MCK: examples should be followed UNLESS there's a gap in browser/AT support

BG: APG doesn't call out specific browser/AT combo support
... add statement that testing is required for browser/AT support

MCK: will add statement

Siri: if not supported currently, what is the fail back?

MCK: use another method/widget/etc
... as temporary gap fix

BG: it is responsibility of author to ensure accessibility on their set of browser/AT

On each example page, add 3 links:

Statement about AT and UA support in Read Me First.

Github Project page.

Github new issue

JN: agrees adding Github Progect Page & new issue
... Stmt about AT and UA support added to JS
... and to example pgs

<jemma> I think there is git tag concept for that...

MCK: use short stmt in JS files with url to full stmt

JN: will investigate placement of links

BG: fnr.exe is really useful for batch file replacements

<jemma> https://findandreplace.codeplex.com/

JN: after 1.1 is done, more emphasis will be on APG and getting stuff in spec

<jemma> what is "aria feature"?

<jemma> aria attribute such as "current"

: Current milestone status

MCK: needs time from Thanksgiving break to work prior to sending note to ARIA WK for review..

Group ok with Matt determining when to send note to ARIA WG.

MCK: remaining open issues - most important is combo box. Will work with Jon Gunderson this week.

<jemma> Review ARIA 1.1 Combobox with Grid Popup Example

<jemma> https://github.com/w3c/aria-practices/issues/500

MCK: Bryan - ok for you to review combo box?

BG: yes

<jongund> hello?

<sirib> Hi Jon

<sirib> Can you join the call Jon?

MCK: splitter needs example

JN: leave in without example

MCK: ok with retaining text to ignore validator outcome.

Group agrees
