Large Natural Turquoise Multi-Pendant Sterling Silver Necklace
This elegant large statement necklace was handcrafted in Jaipur - the home of exquisite jewelry craftsmanship in Rajasthan India. It was skillfully made with 7 large natural Turquoise stones, each in a deep Sterling Silver setting.
The unusual chain and clasp are also Sterling Silver, and balance the design perfectly. Turquoise is used virtually worldwide for jewelrymaking, and is highly prized for its brilliant colors, which vary from mine to mine.
The distinctive webbing patterns and variations of color in the stones on this wonderful piece are typical of the natural Turquoise found throughout much of the Himalayan region, where Turquoise has been used in jewelry-making for millenia.
About Jaipur: Jaipur is the capital of the state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It is often called "The Pink City" because of the pink color of the stones in its elaborate architecture. Early rulers patronized the arts, inviting skilled craftsmen from throughout the known world to come to Jaipur. As a result, Jaipur became a major hub of excellent for the artisan crafts, and remains so today.
