Sir Bernhard Samuelson, 1st Bt. was born on 22 November 1820.1 He was the son of Samuel Henry Samuelson.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Blundell, daughter of Henry Blundell and Mary Porter, on 20 July 1844.1 He married, secondly, Lelia Mathilda Serena, daughter of Chevalier Leon Serena, on 6 April 1889.2 He died on 10 May 1905 at age 84.2
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Banbury in 1859.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Banbury between 1865 and 1885.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He was chairman of the Royal Commission on Technical Instruction in 1881.1 He was created 1st Baronet Samuelson, of Bodicote, Banbury, co. Sir Henry Bernard Samuelson, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 September 1845.1 He was the son of Sir Bernhard Samuelson, 1st Bt. and Caroline Blundell.2 He married Emily Maria Goodden, daughter of John Goodden, on 7 July 1874.2 He died on 14 March 1937 at age 91, without issue.1
