Emily Christina Weir-Maccoll was the daughter of Hugh Weir-Maccoll.1 She married Lt.-Cdr. James Henry Maitland Makgill Crichton, son of David Maitland Makgill Crichton and Emily Bailey, on 28 January 1908.1 She died in 1972.1

David Hugh Maitland Makgill Crichton was born on 11 October 1910.2 He was the son of Lt.-Cdr. James Henry Maitland Makgill Crichton and Emily Christina Weir-Maccoll.1 He died on 16 November 1987 at age 77 at Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England.3
He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times and was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1942.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)2 He was awarded the Commander, Order of Dannebrog.2 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Linguists.2
