Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 February 1817.1 He was the son of Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie, 1st Bt. and Anne Sellon.1 He married Philothea Margaret Thompson, daughter of John Vincent Thompson and Margaret Alderson, on 11 April 1848. He died on 24 November 1880 at age 63.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Waynflete Professor of Chemistry at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Brodie, of Boxford, co.
