Image Feisty actress Best Known for Playing Karen McDonald in Coronation Street Early Life Born Sarah Anne Jones in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, in January 1979. She discovered her love of drama at a young age, and when she was 10, a teacher advised her parents to enrol her in the Oldham Theatre Workshop, where she worked alongside other future soap stars Anna Friel, Lisa Riley and Antony Cotton.

Career Suranne was initially signed to Coronation Street on a threemonth contract, but proved such a big hit she stayed for four years. Shortly after quitting the cobbles, she won a part opposite Ray Winstone in Vincent. She went on to star in the TV dramas Strictly Confidential, Dead Clever and Harley Street, and has recently been attracting rave reviews for her performance in the drama Unforgiven. Away from the small screen, she has also appeared on stage in Most recently, she won rave reviews for her starring role in crime drama Five Days, and is now starring alongside David Tennant in Single Father. Love Life She lives in Manchester with her long-term boyfriend, plumber Lorenzo. Don't Mention Harley Street.
