I enter HKV after months and find it has undergone some changes. Many old favourites seem to have downed shutters and plenty of new ones have popped open. Our destination is the spanking new Art Bar.

We climb up the quintessential HKV flight of dark and dingy stairs to emerge within an eclectic space which doubles up as a gallery. It is interesting what is happening to the Delhi food scene of late. Art Bar seems to be following the trend. The owner, Ricky Teja of Summer House Cafe and Fork You fame, has perceived it as a meeting place where art meets the enthusiast, creating a forum to exchange ideas. As we settle in for food tasting, we are told we can expect some live music from 10 pm onwards. Chef Harman has designed a fusion menu using elements from different cuisines, making it as varied and eclectic as the space itself. From finger food, tapas, pizzas to meal in a bowl, dumplings, burgers and a hearty portion of mains ...the menu covers all. The kebab sliders with mint and mango relish are nice too. The wild assorted mushroom pizza with truffle oil is to die for even for a non-pizza person like me. I did try the Malabar shrimp curry with sticky rice and my friend tried the coconut prawns on chilli cilantro rice, but this is a place one needs to go either for a nice meal or finger food, the only way you can do justice to the wide selection! The menu is well priced with most dishes, (besides seafood) being below Rs. 300.
