Rashid Equestrian Club holds races over Shaikh Nasser's cups.

12 : 50 AM - 24/02/2018 Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): In the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club today held the 17th race for this season, 2017-2018, at its racecourse in Raffa, Sakhir. HH Shaikh Sultanuddin bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa were also present. Seven round were held over the cups of the Personal Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and the Bahrain Olympic Committee Chairman, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and those of his children, HH Shaikha Sheemah bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Nasser lauded the advanced levels and exciting competitions showcased during his cups and those of his children, which, he said, reflected the good preparations by stables and riders. He affirmed that the outstanding levels of the riders reflects the advanced level reached by the equestrian sport in the kingdom thanks to the constant care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the first supporter of the horse-racing and equestrian sport in Bahrain. He asserted that the participation of riders from Bahrain and abroad in the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club's races proves the distinguished progress of its organisation and the high technical level that attracts spectators and horse-racing fans. HH Shaikh Nasser congratulated the winners, hailing the great efforts exerted by the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, led by Chairman, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Deputy Chairman, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to put forward programmes and plans aimed at developing the equestrian sport. Director-General of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, Tawfik Sharaf Al-Alawi crowned the winners. He presented the trophy of the seventh round to HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the owner of "Shogun", the winning horse. Al-Alawi crowned HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa with the trophy of the sixth round, and presented the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, Simon Martin with the trophy of the fifth round, in the presence of HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the owner of the horse "Mutahaady". Al-Alawi also presented the trophies of the first and second rounds to HH Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and those of the third round to winning owner Abdullatif Al-Muraisi, and the fourth to winning owner, Jameel Al-Bash.
