Nit my idea of bonding with the kids.

Byline: SAIRA KHAN

Like many mums I live in fear of nits - and that warning letter from school or nursery or the non-stop head scratching that tips you off about a possible infestation.

I've shelled out for the smelly shampoos and the fine-tooth combs and put up with all the wriggling and complaining involved in getting rid of my children's disgusting bloodsucking parasites.

So I was shocked to read that blogging mum Mandy Nolan actually enjoys removing the lice from her kids' hair.

She claims that popping the eggs brings her family closer and they have competitions to see who has managed to comb out the most.

It all left me scratching my head in amazement. But if Mandy's children run out of unwanted visitors, she can come and nit pick my family any time.
