Monet's Garden to pass obstacle course.

Nicky Richards is hopeful the three miles of the Stan James King George VI Chase will be no problem to Monet's Garden.

Although he has yet to tackle the trip over bigger obstacles, the grey won the 2005 Liverpool Hurdle over that distance.

The Penrith trainer said: "He will be trying three miles over fences for the first time but he got the trip at the highest level over hurdles so I would hope he will get it this time.

"They are all very good horses in there but I think my horse is very good, too, so it will be an interesting race." When Monet's Garden finished second in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham, Racing Demon was a disappointing seventh when favourite.

However, his trainer Henrietta Knight believes Racing Demon put up a "career best" performance last time and will also have no stamina problems.

After unshipping his rider on his seasonal bow at Exeter, Racing Demon came good with a stylish success over Thisthatandtother in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon. Knight thinks the six-year-old will improve for the outing.

The ground at Kempton is described as good to soft, good in places and clerk of the course Brian Clifford does not envisage any problems with the weather.
