Girls stung by jellyfish are rescued.

TWO girls were rescued yesterday after being stung by jelly fish at a popular tourist spot.

The nine and 11-year olds were picked up from Hilbre Island by the West Kirby lifeboat.

It is believed one of them had gone into anaphylactic shock.

The sudden, allergic reaction can affect the heart and circulation and requires immediate treatment.

After the call for help went out paramedics were ready and waiting at the RNLI slipway to treat the girls when they were brought back.

They were taken to Arrowe Park hospital to be checked out by doctors.
