DAD NAMED AS CRASH VICTIM.

POLICE have named a man who died in a late-night crash on a bypass in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Dedicated family man Terry Hill, 45, from Broadlands, Bridgend, died after the collision on the A4233 in Wattstown, Porth, on Thursday night.

It happened when the car Mr Hill was driving was in collision with another vehicle. In a statement released through South Wales Police on Saturday his family said: "Terry was a much loved and devoted husband, father, son and brother.

"He was a pillar not only to his family but the wider community, having been a member of his much-loved band Tylerstown Brass Band and a coach of the Bridgend Athletic under-15s rugby team.

"The family is devastated by this tragic event and Terry will never be replaced.

"Terry was dedicated to his family and friends in all aspects of his life and will be greatly missed by everyone he knew."

Police officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the manner in which either vehicle was being driven prior to the incident, to contact the Roads Policing Unit.

A 40-year-old man from Ferndale has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
