CAN-DO FOR CASEY; WOMEN'S FOOTBALL.

Byline: TONY LEIGHTON

ENGLAND captain Casey Stoney is demanding a repeat performance of last month's Cyprus Cup final victory over Canada when they face the same opponents today.

A great display in Nicosia saw England lift the trophy with a 1-0 win which was the perfect start to their build-up to July's Women's Euro 2013.

It also went some way to avenging the Olympic Games quarter-final defeat suffered by Team GB against the Canadians, who ended up as bronze medallists. And Lincoln defender Stoney (below), who also led Team GB, wants more of the same in the friendly at Rotherham's New York Stadium.

"Our defeat at the Olympics will hurt forever," said Stoney (below). "That night will always be at the back of our minds whenever we play Canada.

"So it was great to win the Cyprus Cup. We were the better side tactically, technically and physically, unlike at the Olympics."

Rachel Yankey will equal Peter Shilton's record of 125 caps if she plays today.
