At surgery atrial
septation has to be done in such a manner that, systemic venous return is redirected to the right atrium and pulmonary venous drainage is retained in the left atrium.
Due to variations of the sphenoidal sinus, it is of great significance that the
septation of the sinus is thoroughly understood in order to ensure safe endoscopic surgical approaches, especially in cases whereby intraoperative neuronavigation is abstract (Kapur et al.).
Background: Outflow tract (OFT)
septation defects are a common cause of congenital heart disease.
Minimal enhancement with
septation was noted; with an area of avid enhancement posteriorly, and heterogenous enhancement centrally (Figures 1a, b).
(A) Longitudinal transvaginal pelvic ultrasound of the left adnexa demonstrating an anechoic cystic lesion that conforms passively to the shape of the peritoneal cavity/pelvic sidewall (long arrow) with a thick
septation (arrowhead).
A: CT Scan of the sinus shows
septation in the left frontal sinus.
The
septation in the PCNs also reduces the efficacy of EL (2,10).
Masses were interpreted as margin (smooth, spiculated or irregular), shape (oval, irregular, round), and internal enhancement pattern (rim enhancement, non-enhancing internal
septation, heterogeneous, homogeneous).
Yang, "Sonographic
septation: a useful prognostic indicator of acute thoracic empyema," Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, vol.
Ultrasonogram of the abdomen showed large heterogeneous mass in the lower abdomen with
septation and internal echoes.
This pattern of
septation reported in squirrels is also found in wild animals such as the raccoon (Bellatine et al., 2010), and some domestic animals (Banks, 1992).
As regards distribution of CT imaging positive performance, the number of patients with intestinal loop abscess accounted for 41.7%, subphrenic abscess for 16.7%, pelvic abscess for 33.3%, the existence of
septation for 25%, and emphysema sign for 16.7%.
