All this is evident in Janssen's recordings of Haydn's D Major Horn Concerto (Capitol 12-inch LP) of Hindemith's E-flat Symphony (Columbia 12-inch LP) and the dullishly obvious Genesis Suite, a mosaic by Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Milhaud, Tansman, Tedesco, Toch, Shilkert (A Capitol 12 inch LP).
It is distinctly possible, for instance, to end up with a body of dullishly repetitive pieces that even so slightly (or maybe not so slightly) display a hint of aesthetic desperation as the maker tried hard to fill a gallery space with artefacts and meanings.
