The former Teesside University student has developmental prosopagnosia - known as "face blindless" - a rare developmental disorder characterised by an inability to recognise faces.
As Catherine Maxwell asserts in her The Female Sublime from Milton to Swinburne: Bearing Blindless, the Swinburnean female figure does not become the "guarantor of male identity" but "an aggressor and a possible source of its disfiguration" (10).
